Thirty Five

The two sat in the waiting room, patiently waiting for the results. Nick sat there on the edge of his seat, getting up and pacing once in a while. It had been about an hour and a half.

Denise called the family to alert them of the situation. They all decided to come and wait with them for support. "Mommy, I'm tired." Said little Payton, rubbing her tired eyes. "I know baby, come here." Said Dani, taking her into her loving arms.

"How long did they say mom?" Nick asked. "Don't worry baby, her and the babies will be fine." She said then placed a kiss on his forehead. "I hope so." He whispered. He got up and walked over to the vending machine. He needed some water to calm him down.

Joe walked over to his brother. "Hey." He said to him. But Nick ignored him and pressed A4, the button for a bottle of water. It then dropped into the shuttle. Nick grabbed his water and drank some. "Nick." Joe said.

"What Joe?" He asked angrily. "I'm sorry this happened man." He sighed. Instead of grieving, Nick chuckled at his brother. "What man?" Joe asked. "You, telling me everything that would go wrong with Selena." Nick said. "But you never once mentioned this." He said angrily. "Nick I-" He started.

"No let me talk." Nick interrupted. "All those complaints you had about her, filled my head with doubts. Doubting that if having kids was a good idea." He said. "But you know what Joe? All those things you said is not the worst things that could go wrong with pregnancy, this is!" He yelled.

"So what if your wife complains, and is packed with hormones and not giving you sex? She's pregnant! That's what comes with pregnancy!" He yelled. The whole family was now looking over at them. "You're lucky to even have Katie. She's the best thing that has ever happened to you." He said.

"So stop complaining all the time and man the fuck up!" He yelled. "Demi pushes you away because of this attitude you have!" He yelled, then pushing him against the wall. "Nick stop!" Demi yelled running over to the two. "You wonder why you haven't had sex in a long time. You don't deserve it!" Nick yelled. "Nick please...." Demi said holding his arm that was resting on Joe's neck.

But before Nick ever got the chance to retain his anger, Joe pushed his hands off. "Joe...." Demi warned. But before Joe got the chance to retain his anger, Nick pushed him back. "Don't push me." He said pushing him back into the wall. It was all fun and games until Nick threw the first punch.

"Boys!" Denise yelled. But the two ignored her and began to fight each other. "Stop it!" Denise yelled running over to the two. The were on the ground, hitting each other.

"Boys quit it!" Paul yelled pulled Joe off of the ground. Nick stood up and began to punch him again repeatedly. "Kevin, help!" Paul asked. Kevin ran over and pulled Nick away from Joe.

"What's the matter with you two?!" Denise yelled. The two looked at each other angrily. "Joe, Nick is right. You need to man up and be a better husband. Demi and Katie deserves more from you." Denise said angrily.
"And Nick. I'm appalled at your behavior! Selena is in the hospital in pain and you're here picking a fight with your brother." She said.

"Paul and I raised you boys better than this!" She yelled. And she was right, the boys new better not to fight each other. "Now I want you both to say you're sorry and hug it out." She folded her arms waiting for them to do as they were told. "Go on." She said.

Joe and Nick looked at each other. "I'm sorry I've been a jerk lately." Joe apologized. "And I'm sorry I let my angry get the best of me." Nick sighed. "Now hug." Denise ordered. The gave each other a bro hug and a pat on the back.

"These are my boys." Denise smiled and hugged them both. "Mom!" Nick complained as she kissed both their cheeks repeatedly. "Now let's sit and wait for the results." She sighed and sat down.

Everyone took a seat after the whole fighting scene. "I'm sorry baby." Joe said to Demi. "I've been a jerk to you and now I know why you've been so distance from me. I promise I'll be better father and husband." Joe apologized. "Awe babe." Demi she said then gave her husband a kiss on his lips.

"Daddy!" Katie yelled running over to the happy couple. "Hey baby!" He said picking her up and showering her with kisses. "Hi daddy!" She said through her giggles. "Daddy stop!" She yelled. And he stopped. She sat there on his lip and said, "I tired." While rubbing her eyes. "Okay let's let you sleep." He said resting her head on his lap and rocking her sideways.

Nick saw the whole scene. He had hoped of being a father like Joe and Kevin. He really looked up to his brothers. He wanted to have his own little Jonas family like them. He only hoped that his babies were okay. For now, he had to wait patiently.

Their patience was thinning until a doctor came out of the room. He closed it and walked over to the two. Nick stood up immediately. "Is she okay? Are the babies okay?" He asked nervously. The family sat there, waiting for his answers.

He had this sad look on his face. He sighed and said, "I'm sorry but.... She had a miscarriage." He said sadly. "What?" Nick said in disbelief. "I'm so sorry sir. Um, we're gonna have to keep her for another day just to make sure she'll be physically okay." He said then left.

But Nick never heard what he said after the word miscarriage. This was unbelievable. Nick knew this was a dream somehow, but he couldn't wake up form it. This was not their plan.
