Twenty Seven

The family had arrived to the park, where they spotted Paul. He had his Cowboys jersey on and was holding a football. "There you guys are." He said. "Paul, you're early." His wife greeted him with a kiss.

"How could I be late for some fun football?" He chuckled. Denise rolled her eyes playfully. He really loved football. "Okay, let's pick the teams shall we!?" He yelled excited. "It's spouse against spouse. Me and Denise will choose our teammates." He smiled.

"I'll start. I choose Nick." She smirked at her husband, knowing that it would make him upset. "Denise! You know I wanted him!" He whined. She chuckled and kissed her son's cheek. "What made you think I didn't want my baby?" She smiled.

Denise and Paul went back and forth, choose their team members. When they finally got around to it, they each huddled up into their own circle to talks about strategies. Kevin, Demi, Sam, Selena, and Paul were on one team while Dani, Joe, Frankie, Nick, and Denise were on the other.

"Selena honey, why don't you sit out. I don't want to risk the baby's life." Denise said, walking over to the other team. "Ha, nice try. You're trying to study our plays." Paul smirked. Denise chuckled and rolled her eyes. "I already know how you think dear." She winked.

"But seriously Selena, the boys are really rough and-" Denise started. "Say no more mom." She smiled and sat on the nearby park bench. "Fine, you'll have to loose one of your teammates too." He said stubbornly. "I'll sit down, Alena is getting fussy." Dani said as she held her toddler. "Okay, let's get this thing started." Denise smiled.

The game had started. The boys were playing rough, so was the girls. A hard tackle here and there. Selena and Dani sat from the bench watching them. Selena held Katie in her hands as she too, observed the game. Payton played on her daddy's phone, running its battery percentage. And Dani did the same as Selena, accept holding her own daughter.

Selena watched closely as they started off playing. It reminded her of the time Nick was a quarterback in high school. He looked so cute he made her skin crawl.

"Hike!" He yelled as he received the ball. All of his players were not open, so he had no choice but to run to the touchdown. No one stopped him, and he smiled as he dropped the ball and did a funny dance. "He's so ridiculous." Dani chuckled. Selena nodded in agreement and smiled. "One of the things I love about him." She said truthfully.

Dani smiled at Selena as she gushed about him. She liked the way her brother's relationship was with Selena. She felt like they were perfect for each other, just like her and Kevin.

"Babe, hand me my water." Nick said out of breath. It was halftime and he needed to cool things down. She obeyed and handed him his water bottle. "You okay baby?" She asked. He finished gulping down his water, quenching his thirst. "Yes, I'm fine." He said the pecked her lips.

"You guys are so adorable." She said as the couple looked at each other with googily eyes. Katie clapped hands as her mother approached them. "Katie." Demi said as she pulled on her jersey. "What did mommy say about pulling on things, huh?" She asked and picked her up. Katie giggled and clapped her hands.

"How are you feeling? Is the baby alright?" He asked rubbing her tummy. "I'm fine Nick." She chuckled. "Go and win the game." She said then kissed his soft lips. "Okay." He winked and ran back on the field with his team. "I should get going too." Demi said and placed Katie back in her arms. "Bye baby." She blew a kiss as she walked away.

The whole family was excited to throw down. Each team wanting to win. Nick was determined. There was something that made him so excited, making his adrenaline rush. He loved playing on the field, and he personally wanted to do that for a living.

"We won!" Sam yelled as they all entered the lovely home. "Sam it's not nice to brag." Paul patted her on the back. "But we one!" He stuck his tongue out. "Really Paul?" Denise chuckled. "Yes really, come here." He said then pecked her lips. "Gross!" Both Sam and Frankie yelled. "Oh hush up." Paul chuckled.

"We're gonna call it a night." Nick said. "Already?" Denise asked. "Yes, I'm really tired." Selena yawned. Denise nodded and kissed both of them. "Must be the baby, goodnight." She said. "Good night they replied, going into their bedroom.

"I'm gonna hit the shower." He said as he pulled his shirt off. "Okay." She bit her lip as she saw those ripped abs. It definitely turned her on. He went to shower then hopped into bed with his girlfriend.

They laid there in pitch black. "Nick?" She called out. "Yeah?" He asked. She turned on her side to him and smiled. "Seeing you out there today brought me back to high school." She admitted. "Me too." He chuckled. She sighed and frowned at him. He wasn't able to see her sadness but he had heard her sigh.

"What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing." She said and bit her lip. "Come on tell me." He teased. "Nothing, it's just I miss our past." She said. "I wish I knew our past." He joked. "Me too." She sighed as a tear slipped down from her eye. "Hey, but you know what?" He said and wiped her tears. She sniffed and looked up at him. "What?" She asked. "I may not know our past for now, but I know we'll have a future together." He said sweetly.

"Promise?" She asked. "I promise you Lena." He said the pecked her lips. She smiled and laid her head on his chest. She loved this Nick. The Nick that was similar to the real Nick. She only hope he doesn't break this promise....❤️
