Nick's head turned to the brunette as she walked in. He smirked at her innocent looks.
“Something wrong Mr. Jonas?" She asked as handed him the printed articles she had written. He took the stack of papers and placed them on his desk. His attention was now back to Selena, who was still curious as to why he looked at her the way he did.
“I need you to do me a huge favor." He demanded, standing up. "W-what is it sir?" She asked nervously. Her boss began to walk around her. "My family is having a small get together this Thanksgiving and Christmas." He said as he glanced at her bum. "Remember when I told you to buy a specific ring for my proposal?" Nick asked as he looked her in the eyes. "Yes sir, the Leo diamond ring, from Kay's Jewelry." She recalled. "Well, my mother expects me to bring my so called fiancé to this gathering." He said as he sucked his teeth. "This is where you come in." He finished.
"What are you asking Mr. Jonas?" She asked, confused as to what did it pertained to her. "Since Olivia refused to accept my proposal, I want you to come with me to my family for the holidays." Her boss said in a pleading manner.
Selena stood there in thought, puzzled at his vague proposal. "Wow Mr. Jonas..." She began. The young woman looked at his boss and saw his pleading face. "Only for two months..." He tried to encourage her. "Can I think about it?" Selena asked. "Okay, sleep on it." Nick warned.
She gave a nod and started walking out of the office. "Gomez." He called. She turned her head around so that her boss was in her view. "Yeah?" She asked. "I'll give you a raise and you can have any section of the article you want, for a month. Just remember that." He said. "Okay sir." She said leaving. "And call me Nick from now on!" He yelled as he sat down in his chair.

It was eight o'clock at night. Selena dropped her belongings on the floor of her apartment and plopped down on her comfy sofa.
She had a very long day at work. It wasn't always easy working with her boss. He wanted everything perfect, his way. He demanded every second of the hour for every single one of his employee to work harder and much quicker. Time is money, is what he always yelled.
The brunette got up off of her small couch and made her way into her semi kitchen. She opened her refrigerator and glanced at the stored food. She scanned the cold fridge of any edible item she felt the need to grub on. She spotted a blue container that held way was the last of her leftovers, spaghetti and meatballs, made with soy meat. She grabbed it and popped it into the microwave for about two minutes. Selena then grabbed a fork and took a seat at the island, which was also in the kitchen.
After her meal, she washed the dirty dishes and put them away. She then grabbed her purse and moved to her bedroom. The young woman placed her purse down and picked up her green cotton towel from a nearby chair.
Selena got undressed and hopped into the shower; the bathroom was located next to her bedroom. She bathed herself from all the dirt that stuck to her body and washed her silky brown hair.
Once cleaned up, she lotioned her body and got dressed in her fuzzy pajamas. She sighed as she made her way over to her bed and sprawled out. She was very thankful that the day was finally over. Selena soon drifted off in her dreams.

Selena fixed her tight bun as she exited her car. She clung onto her work bag as she entered Jonas Daily. She entered the elevator, then stopping at the sixth floor. She made her way over to her work station and plopped her bag unto the desk.
"Gomez!" She heard her boss yelled. "Coming Mr. Jonas." She said as she walked over to his office. "Yes sir?" She asked.
"So.... did you think about my offer?" He asked impatiently.
Selena sighed as she thought about Nick's offer again.
A few things came to mind...
The pros...
I have nothing and no one to spend the holidays with.
I could get a raise and a chance to choose the sports section.
I'll get to spend more time with Nick, my huge crush from high school.
The cons...
What if they found out the truth?
What if they dislike me?
What if they don't think I'm good enough for him or their family?
She finally came to a conclusion. "Okay, I'll be your fake fiancé for the holidays." She confirmed.
