One Week Later....
"Merry Christmas Eve." Said Selena as she entered the living room. The family greeted back as they sat on the family couch.
They were watching Christmas movies while sipping on some hot chocolate. "Hey Selena, want some of my famous hot coco?" Denise asked. "Umm..." She said as she looked at everyone hold a mug. "Sure." She smiled.
"Come with me for a minute." She said placing her mug on a coaster and got up. "Okay." She said then followed her into the kitchen.
Denise rambled around in the kitchen, trying to locate her ingredients. Once she got all her materials, she started to work her magic.
"So how are you?" Denise asked as she poured a potion of the silky white milk into the kettle. "I'm fine." She smiled. "And the babies?" She asked as she turned the stove up a notch.
"They're good." She smiled looking down at her small bump. She then rubbed it and sighed dreamily. She couldn't wait for her and Nick to move in that house and raise their own little family there.
"And you and Nick?" She questioned turning to her. "We're doing better." She smiled. "Are you sure?" She asked again. "Yeah." She chuckled. "If you're ever having problems with him, don't be hesitant to talk to me about. Okay?" She said placing a hand on her arm. "Okay." She smiled.
Selena loved that fact that her and Denise has grown so close in that one month they were there. She was more of a mom to her than her biological mom ever was. She made her feel like she was important. Denise welcomed her in and accepted her into their magnificent family. She hoped one day to be a strong and sweet woman like her.
She smiled back and turned back to the kettle. By that time, the milk was heated to the temperature of Denise's liking. She turned the stove off and poured the milk into a big red mug.
"I'm giving you more for the babies." She said sweetly. "Thanks mom." She smiled rubbing her tummy. "They'll love it and so will you." She commented.
She then grabbed a Hershey's bar. She placed it into the milk and watched as it slowly melted. The chocolate dispersed into the milk as she stirred it. She then grabbed eggnog from the fridge and poured it into a shot glass. She then took the glass and gradually poured the eggnog into the mix.
She stirred the cup once more, getting the flavors to blend. She grabbed the salt shaker and added a dash of salt to the beverage. She mixed once more. Denise grabbed a cinnamon stick and placed it inside the mug.
"There you go." Denise said handing the mug to her. She took the cup and took a small sip. With one taste, her eyes widened. Her taste buds danced as the sweet chocolate flavor made contact with her tongue.
"Mmmm..." She moaned. "It's good huh?" She chuckled. "This is great." She said before taking a few more sips. "It's something my dad taught me how to make and I haven't tell anyone the formula; no one has ever seen me make this. But for you, I'll make an exception." She winked as she grabbed a price of pen and paper.
Selena smiled as she saw the lovely woman indite the ingredients on the paper. She had known this woman for about a month and out of all the other people in the house that's she's known her whole life, she chose her. The fiancé of her youngest adult son. The woman that was carrying her twin grandchildren. The woman that she could bond with more out of the other Jonas women in that house.
"Here you go. Recognize it and then bun it." She winked. "Okay." She said then slipping the price of paper in her pajama pocket. "Come on, we're missing the movie." Denise said then escorted her to the couch. They each took a seat next to their man and leaned on them.
