"What?" gulat na gulat na tanong ni Marius habang naka-video call kami. The bastard never contacted me after his coronation. Nahing busy na kasi ito at kung magkaroon man ito ng time, nangungulit lang ito sa akin kapag nagtatanong kung may lead na ba ako kung nasaan si Avery.

Heh. Like hell will I tell him where his precious mate is?

"Wait let me sink it first. Sabi mo mas gusto mong piliin ang chosen mate mo at gusto mong magkaroon ng pamilya sa kanya kesa sa fated pair mo?" tanong niya lumapit pa sa screen na para bang nag-iisip. "By now, sigurado akong alam mo na ang kayang ibigay ng fated mate mo, hindi ba?"

"The omega you introduced to me is actually your real mate, right?"

"Yes. He's the real one," sagot ko sa kanya.

"And the chosen? Where is he? Why did you haven't introduce that omega to me? Are you keeping secrets to me now?" tanong niya sa akin.

"My chosen mate isn't something I can share with you idiot. He's mine. And I won't give him to you nor will tell anything to you" sabi ko sa sarili ko na gusto ko sanang sabihin iyon sa kanya.

"That omega is for my eyes only," pabirong sagot ko sa kanya.

Tumango-tango siya. Alam nya naman na possessive ang mga alpha lalo na kapag mate ang pinag-uusapan. Just like this bastard when he kept Avery all to himself. At kung sana ay nakilala ko na siya noon, I would be Cameron's father. There's no way that I can't snatch him from him even if it will end our friendship.

"Possessive bastard," natatawang sabi niya sa akin.

"And look who's talking. You're one hell of bastard too," sagot ko sa kanya.

Nagtawanan kaming dalawa.

"Ain't you lucky?" sabi niya maya-maya. "You have your fated mate and your chosen mate with you. Both of them knew about each other?"

Umiling ako.

"No," sagot ko.

"Bro, that's not right. You can't have them both. You're breaking the rule of fate," sabi niya. "You can only choose between your choice or fate. If I were you, I'd choose my fated pair. Why? Because both of you are meant for each other. You were meant to be together since the day you were born. And we can't compare the pull even in our chosen mate. It feels good. We can never resist the pull from our fate. It's amazing, really," nakangiting sabi niya, though I can see sadness in his eyes.

He probably remembers Avery. You can miss him all you want but you can never be with him anymore. And by the time you find him, he's with me, married and a wife of mine taking good care of our kids and your son Cameron.

"You know I don't believe in Fate," sagot ko sa kanya.

"Yeah so why are you keeping your fated pair? And what if your chosen mate has an alpha pair. Do you know what will happen when he finds alpha?" tanong nito sa akin.

"To answer you, first, I kept my fate for sexual purposes only and second, I'm keeping my choice all to myself. I'll have to fight thag alpha if I have to. I found him first, so why would I surrender my omega to him? Not a fat chance. Besides, I'm planning to impregnate my chosen mate in his next heat."

"Are you sure about that? I'm telling you, you cannot fight mate. The more you resist it, the more it will find ways for you to be with your real pair. Unless your pair is dead," sabi niya.
