*Niall's POV*

Phoenix fell asleep agaisnt my chest as soon as I told her to. I knew she had to be tired, and I had no idea how long she had been awake before she had come to MSG. I didn't even know when she got out of the hospital.

We all sat in silence, the boys, El, Dani, Perrie, and Paul all absorbing everything they had learned about Phoenix. I just sat there, running my fingers through Phoenix's hair, enjoying her next to me again. I looked up at Bunny, seeing the sisterly love in her eyes as she looked down at Phoenix, "When was she released from the hospital?" I asked quietly, knowing that Phoenix had heightened hearing. I didn't want to wake her up.

"Yesterday afternoon. We went straight to the airport after she was released, so she's barely had any time to think about anything." Bunny said. I heard the sympathy in her voice, "Last night, she was so tired and in so much pain, but she still found the time to call you right before she went to bed. It was the happiest I had seen her in a while." She said.

"What was the saddest?" Harry asked.

"When Niall was the only one to remember her birthday." Bunny said simply, shooting an angry look at the boys, "I remember hearing her start crying when I walked out."

Liam... the look on his face... he looked like he had accidentally kicked a puppy.... or in this case, Phoenix.

The boys looked like they were just as guilty.

Guilt ran through me. Yeah, I had said happy birthday to her on her birthday, but I never actually got her anything.... She had told me not to.... I had listened... GOD I'M SO STUPID.

Everyone else had even guiltier looks on their faces when they heard that little piece of news.... I could tell they wanted to do something special for her now, "I wanna take her on a date tomorrow."I said slowly, letting the idea of Phoenix and I going on our first date sink in... I was excited just by the possibility.

"That's a great idea! It'll be a surprise. I'll get her ready and send her out with you. But if one of those fans touches her, I WILL come unglued." She said, the promise clear in her voice.

"NU-UH I'm helping, too." Louis said, stepping forward.

Bunny glowered, "Just stay out of my way, carrot boy." She said, glaring daggers. Didn't Phoenix say Bunny loved us? Or was it just the fact that the discussion involved 'Nix?

I decided to intervene before they got too loud, "You guys want to quiet down before you wake up 'Nix?" I said, getting their attention.

Bunny snorted, "'Nix sleeps like a rock. You could set off a firework next to her head and she wouldn't wake up." She said.

I chuckled, but still pulled Phoenix gently into my arms and standing up, "Where are you going?" Bunny asked.

"Taking Phoenix to bed."

Confusion seeped into her eyes. Harry interuppted her before she could say something, "Phoenix always sleeps in the same room as Niall. Never knew why, though." He said, looking at me.

"She always got nightmares and it made her feel better that I was near her." I said, not looking back and carrying Phoenix into our room. I gently set her on our bed. I slipped off her trademark combat boot and set it next to the one sitting next to her suitcase that Paul probably brought over earlier.

I was about to walk out of the room when Firefly rolled over and grabbed my hand gently, whispering "Stay with me...."

I smiled and layed down next to her, pulling her into my chest and wrapping my arms gently around her, blocking her from all the other bad things in the world that could hurt her.

I fell asleep like that, happier than I have been in awhile.

****AUTHOR'S NOTE****

I'm SO. SORRY. That I haven't updated in forever and that this chapter is really short!! I've had writers block on this fanfic and it's just now unblocking, so the next few chapters will be like filler chapters until I think of what will be next on the story line:) Hope you enjoyed my story, and read my 2 new storys, Unknown, which isn't a One Direction fanfic, and Here Goes The World, which is a fanfic I wrote randomly a few years ago and forgot about.
