Propping his chin on his palm on the passenger side window of the Maserati, Levi suddenly turned to Dante, who held the steering wheel with one hand while his other hand was holding Levi's own as a question popped up in his mind.
"By the way, how did you know I would be at that park?"
"I saw you walked out of the campus."
"So you followed me."
"I was worried about you. To be honest, this isn't the first time I followed you."
"Really, and how many times have you followed me."
"This is my second time."
Levi waited for Dante to continue when the other male did not elaborate; he became anxious and asked another question.
"When and where else have you followed me."
"Second week of the semester, when you walked into the woods early in the morning, I couldn't sleep, so I got up and ran a few times around the field. I was making my way back to the dorms when I spotted you walking out of your dorm area. I wanted to leave you alone, but a part of me was fascinated by what you might do. So I followed you. I watched as you fed the small animal while talking to it."
"Oh gosh, how embarrassing; you must've thought I was weird or something, a grown person speaking to animals."
"Should we go there together next time"
"We'll see; I don't know if I want you to meet my little friend yet," said Levi looking at Dante, laughing at his own jokes.
Hearing the sound of laughter, Dante took his eyes off the road for a few seconds before he lifted his clasped hand that was holding Levi's smaller one up to his mouth and gently kissed it.
"Dante, let go and put both hands on the steering wheel. We are coming to the stoplights; people can see what you are doing," said Levi trying to pull his hands away from Dante's grip.
"Do you know how captivating your laugh is? I am glad I could hear you laugh; it is the most soothing sound ever."
"You.. stop being a flirt," said Levi, successfully taking his hand out of Dante's grip
"I'm not joking; it really is a nice sound."
Levi turned away from Dante, putting both his arms upon the window before laying his chin on it, ignoring the look on Dante as they came to the stoplights.
Dante stopped his teasing for the remainder of the evening and continued to drive until they reached the restaurant that Dante had first bought Levi to. During dinner, the two shared small information about each other likes and dislikes as well as stories from their childhood. Levi listened as Dante told him about the many adventures he would go on when he was a child, laughing whenever Dante had been up to mischief and being caught by his mother, who later would punish him in which he never learned his lesson.
The more Levi listened, the more he tried to picture a mini Dante running around being chased by his mother to receive his punishment.
After their dinner, Dante again drove them back to campus; he parked his car in his usual spot and turned off the engine. He made a gesture to get out but stopped when he heard Levi talk.
"I... thank... thank you for dinner," said Levi shyly before mustering up the courage to lean over and gently peck Dante's cheeks; not waiting for the man's reply Levi quickly opened the car door and stepped out of the vehicle. He didn't get far when he was dragged back and fell into Dante's warm embrace.
"You are not getting away that easily after that stunt you just pulled; I was trying to hold myself back, afraid of what you might think of me if I came on too strong, but never would I have imagined that you would be so bold as to tempt me."
Dante lowered his lips and devoured Levi's mouth, not giving the other male time to protest.
After their long kiss, Levi spoke, his voice croaking
"Dante, not here. Someone might see us."
Dante did not answer; instead, he lowered his head and looked Levi in the eyes before speaking
"You'll be the death of me, to have one's desire in front of them but is unable to devour. This torturest hunger will eventually eat me alive."
"Dante, I'm sorry, I wish I had your confidence and courage I...."
"Hey, listen, we'll take this one step at a time; I will wait as long as it takes for you to accept me," said Dante pecking Levi's lip before speaking again
"Let's go. I'll walk you back to your dorm. It's getting late."
As soon as they left the parking lot, Levi walked a few steps ahead of Dante, putting a reasonable distance between the two. While walking back, a few students were still out and about around the campus; everyone they passed greeted Dante, reminding Levi once again of their social status. Levi lowered his head and walked further away from Dante when a group of people spotted him and gathered around him, forming a mini circle with Dante being trapped in the middle.
Knowing that he would not get to say goodbye to Dante, Levi continued until he reached the front door of his dormitories. Fishing out his key from his pocket Levi inserted the key and unlocked the door, opening it. Levi knew that Dylan wasn't back yet from his basketball game as the room was pitch black as soon as he entered.
Levi swung the door closed, but before it closed completely, it was swung open again from the outside. Whoever it was had entered his room and closed the door behind them; Levi quickly moved back a few steps while fishing out his phone, readying to call for help but was pulled into a warm chest. Levi instantly relaxed as he was taken into the familiar embrace.
