"Morning, mum"
"Good morning Levi. Did you sleep alright?"
"Mhm"
"Do you have any plans today?"
"Not much. I'm going to the orphanage after breakfast and seeing how the children are doing. I have already informed work about my break. Hopefully, they will call me in for work."
"Sounds good. I'll let you have your breakfast. If you need me, I will be in the backyard doing some garden work."
"Will do, mum. By the way, mum, where is Mia? Is she still sleeping?"
"No, she had worked today and already left an hour ago," said Amelia, walking to the backyard after putting on her sun hat.
Levi took the bus that would take him to the orphanage, picking up baked goodies before heading down to the children. Apart from his regular shift at the local supermarket, Levi liked to spend most of his days at the orphanage. Reading and playing with the more minor children.
On other days he would give tutoring lessons to the older children that were behind in their studies. Children that needed an older brother to look out for them. In appearance, Levi is not the suitable big brother one would seek out, but he is the perfect big brother when it comes to studying and not falling behind.
Entering through the gate of the orphanage, Levi walked through the small pathway leading inside to his right is, where the headmaster's office was located. Further down the hallway was the children's play area, and across from that was the library.
Levi continued on his way until he came to the rooms of the more minor children. Once they saw him, everyone gathered around Levi, shouting and smiling at him.
"Levi, you finally came." said one little boy around four years of age with light freckles on his face.
"Yes, Billy, I came, and I also have something in my bag."
"What is it?" came another voice that belonged to an Asain little girl
"Alright, everyone, let's get in line."
The children quickly gathered behind one another, forming a straight line. Levi put his bag down, took out freshly baked cookies and muffins, and put two of each in the eagerly awaited hands of the children.
One by one, the children received their goodies and moved away to find a spot to eat but not after saying their thanks. Once everything had been distributed, Levi got up from his spot. He eyed the children for a few more minutes before turning away from them, only to let out a loud gasp.
"Oh my goodness, Carter, you must make your presence known. You nearly gave me a heart attack. When did you get here."
"Been here awhile now. I hope there are some muffins left for me. I haven't had morning tea yet." said Carter, a boy sixteen years old but standing a few inches taller than Levi towering over him completely.
"I thought that maybe you and I could go out together today. I've noticed you've grown again since last I saw you. We could grab something to eat while we are out," suggested Levi.
"Alright, meet me at the gate. I will inform the headmaster of my plans."
"Alright, see you in a bit."
Dante had just pulled out his chair to sit when the chef placed his breakfast in front of him. His phone vibrated after only a few bites, alerting him of an incoming notification. Upon opening his message, Dante looked at the contents before throwing his phone down on the floor and breaking it into pieces.
Getting up from the table, Dante flips his plate over before storming out of the dining hall, leaving the maids to clean up after him.
"Let's take a break and grab some lunch. How about over there? It looks like a decent place."
"Sure", replied Carter with his hands full of shopping bags.
Levi took the lead and walked to the restaurant with a few people lining up to enter when the waiter arrived in front of him, Levi spoke.
"Hi, a table for two people, please."
"Table for two. Please follow me."
The waiter led the two into the establishment. Once they arrived at their table, the waiter put down two sets of menus and spoke.
"Can I start you off with the drink menu?"
"A glass of cold water and a can of coca cola for me, please me. Carter, what about you."
"A glass of cold water, please. Thank you."
"Thank you. I will be right back with your drinks."
"Carter, are you sure you don't want anything refreshing to drink?" Asked Levi.
"No, I'm alright water is fine. By the way, are you sure it's okay for you to buy so many things for us that I feel bad?"
"Don't be. I bought it so you and the other older kids can have more accessories for school. And those jackets are for the upcoming weeks. It will be winter soon; it can get very cold."
"Here are your drinks. Are we ready to order.?"
"Yes, can I please have the pasta bowl set?"
"The pasta bowl set comes with a side of soup and freshly baked baguettes. What about this gentleman? What would you like."
"I'll have the steak with greens, beans and roast vegetables, please."
"Great choice, gentlemen. I will be right back with your order."
"Thank you," said Levi waiting for the waiter to leave before turning his attention back to Carter.
"I'm going to use the restroom for a bit."
"Sure."
Getting out of his seat, Levi looked around the establishment before finding the restroom at the back near the kitchen area. Coming out of the restroom, Levi walked back to his table, keeping his head low.
Levi had just finished his meal. Using a napkin to wipe his mouth, everyone in the restaurant turned their attention to the entrance fussing about the person that had just entered. Levi usually made no heed to such commotion. Picking up his glass of water, Levi took a sip from it when his eyes met a pair of cold, sharp eyes.
"Should we leave" asked Carter
"Uh ahh, yes, we should", replied Levi averting his eyes away from Dante's cold ones.
Levi signalled for the waiter to bring the bill. After paying for everything, he gathered his belongings and walked out with Carter leading the way. Just as Levi walked past Dante and his companion, he was grabbed roughly by Dante, who proceeded to pull him out of the restaurant.
