Waking up, Levi adjusted his eyes to the blinding light protruding out of the window, using his hands to rub his eyes; judging how high the sun was, Levi knew he had slept all morning, missing his first lesson of the day.
Still feeling unwell, Levi tried to get up, knowing that he still had a class in the afternoon. Levi turned his head around only to let out a loud gasp instead once he saw who was lying beside him. Backing himself to a corner dragging the blanket with him, Levi sat as far from Dante.
Dante felt the tug of the blanket being pulled away from him; he slowly opened his eyes, waking up from his morning nap.
"You had a fever and was in heat. I didn't want to bring you to the hospital while you were in heat, so I bought you here," explained Dante while getting out of bed and moving to the nearby table. He pulled out a Marlboro cigarette on the table, lit it up and began smoking.
Levi did not answer, only thoroughly checking his body for any signs of being violated; once he confirmed that his body had not been ravished, he quickly scrambled out of bed, heading for the door.
Dante had predicted the other's intention and promptly moved to the door, leaving his unfinished cigarette on the ashtray.
"Where are you going? Your heat is not over. It will continue if you don't have anything to suppress it."
"Let me go first. I can deal with it on my own."
"I am not letting you out of this room."
Levi pushed, shoved and wiggled himself around, trying to free himself out of Dante's grip.
Growing tired of all the moving and shovelling, Dante finally had enough and pushed Levi back onto the bed before looking at him.
Releasing his Alpha pheromones, he spoke.
"You will stay where you are."
Feeling the strength and power of an Alpha, Levi had an urge to submit. He whimpered slightly before speaking from his spot on the bed.
"Why do I have to abide by your bidding? You are not my Alpha, and I do not carry your mark."
"You will do as I say; I am trying to protect you from all the other Alphas. Why can't you understand my intentions."
"You're trying to protect me from other Alphas, but who will protect me from you? I will not be so shameless as to share an Alpha with anyone."
Dante did not reply; he merely picked up his phone near the cigarettes on the table. Putting the phone to his ear, he spoke three words to the other person on the line before disconnecting the call.
Throwing the phone back on the table, Dante sat once more finishing his cigarette butted out on the ashtray and walked towards Levi.
Seeing the other male closing the distance between them, Levi again backs himself up to a corner.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Dante spoke."I'm sorry about what happened yesterday; I.."
"You don't need to explain yourself; who you kiss or see has nothing to do with me; we are only two individuals attending the same lecture, nothing more."
"Are you saying what happened to us a few weeks back did not impact you? Did you not feel the spark that had been ignited between us."
"It was just a spark, nothing more there are many couples who felt a spark but still go out exploring other options. There is nothing special about that anymore."
"Levi, do you know that everything you are saying to me right now is hurting me. Do you know how much pain my hurt is in?"
Levi knew that his words hurt the other, but he would not let Dante see the effect he had on him, lest his heart broke into a million more pieces. That was something he was not ready for.
The two sat facing one another when a knock at the door followed by a sweet voice.
"Dante, I'm here."
Hearing the voice, one more Levi stiffened.
Dante looked at Levi before turning away towards the door and opening it.
"Dante, you naughty boy, calling me here in the middle of the day; I was just about to go to class."
Levi watched as the female entered the room. As soon as her eyes landed on Levi, her beautiful face twisted in disgust.
"Dante, honey, what is this person doing in your room?"
Without replying, Dante walked past Harper towards the bed. Sitting down, he spoke.
"From now on, he is the only one I need in my life; you will not come near me or contact me without his knowledge; if you still value our friendship, you need to understand that no one else is more important to me than him. If you hurt him, I will not show you mercy."
Harper stood rooted in her spot, feeling shocked at what Dante said to her, thinking that the other person was having a bad day and didn't mean what they said. She put up a sweet smile on her face, took a step closer to Dante, and spoke.
"Dante, you didn't mean that, did you? How can you still act so cold towards me over an omega? Remember your parents what you to continue the Alpha bloodline. You can't possibly do that without me."
As she finished her speech, Harper stood beside Dante, seductively putting her hands on Dante's arm, slowly moving them upwards to his neck. Feeling her touch, Dante stood up from the bed abruptly and pushed Harper away from him, resulting in her falling to the ground.
Thinking that Dante would continue to hurt her, Levi moved from his spot on the bed, stopping Dante from advancing further by holding on to his arm.
"You dare push me, Dante. In all the years we've known each other, you never hurt me before," said Harper getting up from the floor; her eyes zoomed in on the hand touching Dante.
Harper walked up to him and separated him from Dante before delivering a slap across his face.
"It's all your fault. If you didn't let your pheromones out in front of Dante trying to get this attention, he would not have treated me like this; it's all your fault," shouted Harper lifting her hands once more.
Dante looked from a shocked Levi to Harper; sensing her motive, he grabbed her by the arm, twisted it behind her back and pushed her forward before going to Levi and inspecting his face.
"Are you alright?"
"Mn, it hurts a little."
"Dante, how could you... you"
"Enough, I've told you already that I no longer have anything to do with you, do not show your face around me again; you disgust me."
Tears gathered in Harper's eyes as he looked at Dante.
"Still, I do not believe that you have moved on from me that quickly or that you are in love with someone else I..." Harper did not finish her sentence as she watched Dante lowering his head and kissing the omega on the lips while his hands pulled the other male closer to him, caressing his body.
After the kiss, he spoke.
"I do not care whether you believe me or not; as long as he is by my side, nothing else matters to me; I called you here to tell you that I have found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Now that you know, please leave us. We have other things to do."
Harper did not reply. She wipes away her tears before turning around to the door, opening it only to shut it a few seconds later.
