Pepper's excitement spiked as she and Tony entered the fancy restaurant, Morgan with Lila at the house.
"She has no idea!" Wanda said giddily as the pair approached the rest of the adults.
"She's Natasha Romanoff." Laura said smiling softly "Of course, she knows." Pepper nodded in agreement. Yelena was silent per usual and Steve was concerned that she wasn't happy about this all. Pepper had heard from Bucky what had happened when he'd asked her. She'd simply looked at him and said
"Okay." No emotion. No frown. No smile. But then again that was Yelena. Kate had tried to reassure him that Yelena liked him but he was still unsure.
"Are you excited about this Yelena?" Pepper asked trying to lighten the mood. Yelena shrugged her shoulders
"I suppose if Natasha is happy then I'm happy for her but if he hurts my sister I won't be afraid to kill him." Pepper laughed but by the look on Kate's face Pepper could tell she was not joking.
"I second that motion," Clint added to which Tony nodded Laura sighed at there childish behavior. Natasha looked breathtaking. She wore a short velvet red dress that hugged her curves perfectly. Her face lit up at the sight of everyone. Tears were already forming in Laura's eyes. Laura had cared for Natasha liked a sister and welcomed her into her own family since Natasha couldn't have one. She was like a second mother to all of her kids.
"Laura, what's wrong?" Natasha asked smiling but realized Clint and Tony (Who claimed to never cry) were all teary-eyed. "Guys is everything okay?" She asked growing serious.
"Turn around," Laura said softly tears of happiness sliding down her cheeks.
"What?" Natasha confused.
"Turn around," Clint said smiling softly. She slowly turned to gasp seeing Steve down on his knee.
"Natalia Alianova Romanova I love you with all of my heart will you take the honor of becoming my wife." Natasha nodded tears streaming down her face
"Yes!" Everyone applauded as they embraced, he slipping the ring onto her finger. Everyone moved to embrace them Clint giving Steve a smile but said seriously
"Don't hurt her." Steves smile faltered slightly. Natasha moved to Yelena wrapping her in a hug. Natasha met Peppers eyes from across the room giving her a simple smile but her expression spoke volume.
"Thank you." Natasha mouthed to which Pepper smiled. If Pepper hadn't been there to help her through her self-hatred they both knew she and Steve wouldn't be together and both be stewing in misery. Pepper let herself hug Tony both of them filled with bliss and joy.
