Pepper had the most peculiar thing happen to her when she woke up. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No Morgan dragging her out of bed to watch tv. No Tony whining at how bright the sun was. Only silence. A scraggly written note sat on her bedside table.

Pep,

Went with little red and capsicle to Katniss's house to watch the game.

Will be back before dinner.

Love you,

Tony

Pepper quietly crept to Morgan's room opening the door softly wondering if she was still sleeping. To her shock, there was no trace of Morgan anywhere to be found. She wasn't in the TV room, the kitchen, nowhere.

"Morgan!!!" Pepper shouted being to grow frantic.

"I'm here." an unusually meek voice spoke up. She sat pressed between the couch and the side table barely fitting.

"What are you doing here Momo?" Pepper asked chuckling.

"Just thinking," Morgan responded any sign of the usually giddy and sarcastic Morgan was gone.

"What's wrong Mo?" Pepper asked lifting her daughter onto the couch.

"Mommy, can I ask you something?" Morgan asked her bright eyes shining with hope.

"Yes of course Momo anything."

"You promise you won't get mad?"

"I promise." Taking a deep breath Morgan looked Pepper dead in the eye

"Do you and Daddy love each other?" Pepper's eyes widened at her question

"Yes of course Mo! I love your Daddy very very much why ever would you think anything else?" A small tear slipped down Morgan's cheek

"Well the other day Auntie Wanda brought Me, Billy, and Tommy to play with Nathaniel at Uncle Clint's house and Tommy and I got into a fight it wasn't bad or anything but before Tommy could argue back Nathaniel said something 'Go easy on her, morgan's parents are going through stuff. They fight all the time. She's probably just sad' So Mommy is that true? Do you and Daddy fight a lot?" Pepper felt a tear slip down her own face. This was a question she had hoped to answer when Morgan was older. Much older. She'd be ready by then. But seeing the maturity and curiosity in her daughter's eyes she couldn't ignore what was going on.

"For a little bit, Mommy and Daddy fought a lot we both still loved each other very much but Daddy started to get really grumpy all the time like you when you don't sleep a lot and that made Mommy upset. But then, then they realized that they loved each other. They worked past their fights and were even more in love than before. But there was one thing they loved more than each other and you know what that is?"

"What?" Morgan asked a knowing smile on her face.

"You!" Pepper exclaimed tickling Morgan. "No matter what Daddy and I will always love you and each other Momo I promise."

"Can we watch Kim Possible now Mommy I'm bored!!!" Pepper let out a laugh at her sudden change in spirit

"Of course Momo." With that Pepper wrapped an arm around Morgan settling into the couch and relaxing into the weekend.
