It felt as though they'd been helping Natasha pick out a dress forever. The three of them couldn't seem to agree on one. Natasha came out in a dress her eyes dropping with boredom.
"You look fat!" Morgan screeched and Pepper immediately shot a glare her way
"Morgan Hope Stark! We do not say that to anyone!" Morgan's cheeks grew red as she mumbled an apology. Before they knew it others had joined them in hope of finding Natasha a dress. Wanda had stopped by with Tommy who was bored out of his mind, Laura and Lila were eager to help her pick one too and they had dragged Clint along with them.
"This is impossible!!!" Natasha screeched and Laura let out a sigh. Natasha Romanoff did not like shopping. If she went for more than an hour she would turn into angry grumpy Natasha.
"Just pick a damn dress, Tasha!!!" Clint shouted to which Morgan grinned
"Yeah pick a damn dress, Tasha!!!"
Wanda sighed "Pepper I'm going to take Tommy to the park would Morgan want to come?" Morgan nodded eagerly
"Yup! Bye Mommy! Just pick a dress, Auntie Red! You're being dramatic!!!!" Pepper silently thanked Wanda as she disappeared Morgan in tow. Clint quickly rushed out behind them.
"I swear that man will be the death of me." Laura laughed. Laura Barton had slowly become one of Pepper's favorite people. She had the nicest family and was always smiling. She had opened her arms out to Pepper even though the two barely knew each other. She had made her home a safe place for her and Morgan. There was not one thing about her Pepper could complain about.
"I'll help her!" Lila said happily taking the chance to help her 'Aunt' pick out her dress.
"They have the sweetest relationship." Pepper mused smiling. Laura nodded returning her smile with a laugh
"Nat has always been like a second mom to Lila except she gets to be the cool one." Minutes later Natasha appeared once more. The dress stood off the shoulder and was made out of satin. A happy smile was planted on her face and it soon appeared on all of theirs. "Nat you look beautiful!" Laura gushed jumping to her feet. Pepper nodded in agreement smiling at her.
"I think this is the one," Natasha said her smile neverending. Lila squeezed her into a hug but Pepper felt a sense of dread all of a sudden. A no-good awful part of her was jealous. She knew it made her a bad person but she and Steve and the relationship she had dreamed of having with Tony. The perfect wedding, the sweetest relationship. Everything Pepper wanted. For the first time since high school Pepper Potts was jealous of Natasha Romanoff. And it hurt like hell.
