A few weeks later Pepper was awoken by a call at 5 in the morning. Tony groaned shifting over in bed and pulling his pillow over his head.

"Hello?" She answered groggily barely awake.

"Hi Pepper!" Natasha exclaimed soundly fully awake. Pepper could never understand how she barely got any sleep. For the past couple of weeks, Natasha had been in what Tony called a 'widow craze'. She was stressed over the wedding, Yelena, and Pepper knew the failed IVF she and Steve had been getting were all taking a toll on her mental health.

"Hi Nat," Pepper responded trying to keep her voice chipper. "

Since Yelena's not here and My Mom's not able to come until the wedding I was wondering if you and Morgan would come to help me pick out my wedding dress?" Pepper wanted to squeal and jump

"Yes! Yes! Yes! We'll come right now!" Back in high school Pepper could never have imagined planning the strong independent snarky Natasha's wedding. She was four years younger than Pepper but had dated more guys than she'd care to admit. She always claimed that she would never fall in love but things had changed when Steve came around. The two had been close friends for years so it wasn't totally surprising when they started to feel romantic feelings toward one another. Pepper got changed, did her hair, drank some coffee, and happily went to wake Morgan up when it hit her. It was only 5:30.

"I need my beauty sleep, Mommy!" Morgan whined as Pepper drove them to the boutique.

"We are helping Auntie Nat pick out her wedding dress today." Pepper said already sighing at Morgan's behavior "If you are nice today I'll let you sleep in tomorrow." Morgan let out a whoop as Pepper sighed again. Why was she a miniature Tony? Pepper had been so excited when she found out she was having a daughter. A girl who would love all the same things she did. But Morgan was having none of that. She was Tony inside and out. Natasha smiled their way as they exited the car

"Thanks for coming." She said quietly as they made their way inside.

"Of course." Pepper said smiling softly.

"Auntie Nat if I don't get ten hours of sleep tonight I will literally die so please stop calling Mommy so early!" Pepper went to scold Morgan but stopped at Natasha's laughter.

"You know this may surprise you but your Mommy loves sleeping in." Pepper raised an eyebrow at the lie. Pepper couldn't count the number of times she'd dragged Tony out of bed in the morning.

"Really?" Morgan asked excitedly.

"Really," Natasha responded smiling as Morgan skipped away.

"Why did you say that?" Pepper asked genuinely curious for her response. Natasha turned to her friend her eyes glossy

"Her whole like everyone has told Morgan she's just like her Dad. That she looks like him, she acts like him it was what everyone did to Yelena growing up. But sometimes all little girls want is being told how there like their Mom even if it's just as simple as having something in common because a Mom is their daughter's biggest hero." Natasha's words brought tears to Pepper's eyes

"You are going to make an amazing Mother one day Natasha."

Natasha smiled sadly in return "I hope so."
