A few months had passed and a lot had changed. Yelena had gotten out of jail. Loki had a child (surprising them all). And Natasha and Steve's wedding was getting closer each day. Towards the end of the school year, the weather was growing warmer and Pepper's spirits were slowly lifting. Tony was practically living at Pepper's house by this point. On this particular day, Morgan was at school and afterward would be picked up by Steve to go to soccer practice. The house had fallen into a peaceful silence that Pepper enjoyed. She had no work to do that day so she'd finally been able to relax and just read. No Morgan to worry about. No hectic wedding planning with Natasha. No worrying about her workload. Just her and her book. Her silence was interrupted by a knock on her bedroom door only minutes after she'd relaxed.

"Yes?" She asked trying not to let her annoyance seep into her words. Tony poked his head in his face screwed with worry

"Bad time?" Pepper shook her head resting her book down sighing inwardly

"Nope, what's going on?" Tony stiffened up moving entirely into the room "I have some news."

"What is it, Tony?" Pepper asked growing worried. When Tony Stark said he had news it couldn't be good. He was always finding new ways to get into trouble.

"I sold my house." he said loudly the words tumbling out of his mouth.

"What!" Pepper exclaimed jumping up "Were you ever going to tell me about this!" Tony gulped

"I kinda sort of forgot to?" Pepper raised an eyebrow

"Anthony Edward Stark how long ago did you sell your house?" Tony's eyes settled on the floor as if he was looking for a way to escape from Pepper's glower.

"When Yelena got sent to jail." He muttered.

"Tony are you serious!" Pepper screamed her voice echoing throughout the house "You've been keeping this from me for months!!!"

"Pep please please forgive me." he pleaded

"I was worried you'd be mad!"

Pepper sighed angrily "Well this is the kind of thing we should've talked about first!"

"I thought you said I could live here!" He exclaimed

"I didn't think you'd sell your house!"

"Sorry," he muttered his face sour as if he'd just been scolded by his Mother.

"It's fine." Pepper said through a glare "but in the future, we need to talk about these things understand?"

Tony nodded "Yes ma'am!"

"Now let me read my book in peace." She demanded turning back to her freedom. He turned to leave before saying one more thing

"Okay and Pep?"

"Hm?"

"I love you."

Pepper smiled softly "I love you too."
