As Medda's performance finished, I couldn't help but notice the ginger-haired girl sitting in a private box. She looks familiar.

Attempting to get her attention, I tried to wave to her. That didn't work, she just continued clapping and smiling. Her smile could light up the entire sky at night.

I ran past David and Jack, who both looked confused at my actions, as I tried to find Medda. I felt bad abandoning them, but I couldn't ignore my shot to try and get to know the mysterious woman.

"Hey, Miss Medda!" I yelled, causing Medda to turn around and give me a smile.

"Oh, dear Sarah, you scared me!" she exclaimed, hugging me.

"Sorry about that," I awkwardly chuckled, "but do you happen to know anything about her?" I pointed at the girl from earlier.

Medda laughed, getting closer to my ear. "No, but why don't you go find out?" She patted me on the shoulder, walking away. My eyes followed her as I turned away to climb up the latter.

My rough hands gripped onto the semi-rusted metal, pulling me up to the top. Once I got up to the top, I examined her a bit more closely.

She was wearing a long, light purple skirt with dark pink trim that had a matching jacket and tie to go with it. Her hair and bangs were curled to perfection.

I also recognized her as the girl who I ran into earlier today when I was making my way down to the circulation gate. Small world, huh?

"Hello again." I spoke, and I guess my voice startled the girl, because she jumped at the sound of it.

"This is a private box., She panicked, obviously confused as to why I was there.

"What, you want, I should lock the door?" I smirked. Her face turned pink while she fumbled over her words. Cute. "Twice in one day, think it's fate?"

"Go away, I'm working," she tilted her head back before returning to her paper.

"Oh, a working girl, huh?" I teased, most likely pushing her boundaries. I leaned over towards her, "doin' what?"

"Reviewing the show for the New York Sun," she barely whispered, pointing at the show with her pen while looking at me.

"Hey, I work for The World!" I blurted out.

"Awe, somewhere out there, someone cares." She shot back at me. I leaned back a bit, jokingly putting my hands up in defense. If she was going to push my buttons, then I'll push her's.

"The view is better here," I flirted, turning my back to her and kicking one of my feet up. I made sure to keep my face towards her as I bit my lip. Her face started to turn red.

She groaned, obviously trying to ignore what she looked like. "Please go, I am not in the habit of speaking to strangers."

I scoffed, "Well, then you'se gonna make a lousy reporter," which turned into a laugh. "The name's Sarah Jacobs." The phrase reminded me that I had no clue as to what this girl's name was.

"So, the flirt has a name, huh? Is that what it says on your rap sheet?" She shot back. Fiesty, eh?

I made an 'o' shape with my mouth, a bit startled by the comeback. My facial expression turned into a laugh, "Oh, a smart girl, huh?" I stood there for a second, leaving us in a somewhat comfortable silence. My hand was in my pocket while the other gripped onto the cool, metal railing. With a smile still on my face, I continued, "I admire smart girls," I said as I put my leg up on a chair and leaned against it, "beautiful, smart, independent..."

This must have really ticked the girl off, because she stood up angrily and complained rather loudly, "Do you mind?" She got close to my face, and I felt her hot breath on my neck as she panted. She was a bit shorter than me, looking to be around 5'5. I could see her examining my face within the second that we stared at each other, and I mirrored her action.

Her hair looked more brunette than ginger from up close, and she had rounded cheeks. Her nose sat on her face almost perfectly, but I couldn't look away from her eyes.

Despite all of the anger she had towards me at that moment, her eyes still looked as sweet as chocolate. They had a welcoming feeling when I looked at them, and were definitely a lighter brown than mine. Too bad the moment was interrupted by the man screaming at us from below, or I would've kissed her right then and there.

"Hey, pipe down, up there!" He boomed, which scared the girl so much I thought she would fall off the edge of the railing.

"You got in for free, at least pay att-" Medda started, but I cut her off.

"I'm sorry, Miss Medda," I smiled, waving my hand at her. She pointed her finger at the girl and I with a smirk, and I rolled my eyes.

I looked at the girl for a bit, before grabbing a newspaper and a pencil out of my back pocket.

I got no use for moonlight,

I put my leg up on the chair, using it as a makeshift table.

Or sappy poetry.

I looked back at the girl once again, who was taking notes like nothing happened.

Love at first sight's for suckers, at least it used to be...

"W-What are you doing?" I looked up to see her standing above me. I quickly held the newspaper against my chest.

"Hey! Quiet down, there's a show goin' on," I gestured towards the Bowery Beauties, who I didn't really pay attention to until that moment.

She crossed her arms and pointed a finger at me. "Ugh, you are the most impossible girl-"

"Shh..." I put a finger up to my lips.

"-Ever," she continued in a whisper. and sat back down in her chair once I shooed her away.

"Don't come a-knocking on my door!",

I quickly added some final details on my sketch with my pencil, glancing up at her one last time.

No, I never planned on someone like you!

I brought my leg down from the chair and replaced it with the drawing I made, shoving it in my back pocket. I made my way down the latter, but not before tipping my cap towards her and flashing a smile. She tried to stop me, but it was too late.

I heard her gasp at the sight of my drawing, and I longed to see her reaction. I walked back over to Miss Medda to have one last conversation before heading back to the lodge with David and Les.

"Miss Medda, I'm gonna head out for the night, you did wonderful tonight!" I waved to the woman as she smiled at me.

"Thank you, oh, and did you happen to catch that girl's name?"

I inhaled sharply. I had totally forgotten to ask for her name! "Ugh, I forgot to ask about that. But, she does know my name!" I added.

She nodded, "Goodnight Sarah, come back when you can!"

"Of course. Goodnight, Miss Medda," and then I was off to find my brothers and Jack.

Hoping fate would bring the mysterious girl back to me.
