-
Homework was never Jack's thing. He had trouble focusing in the first place, but he also never had the energy to do calculus or write an essay about the metaphors used in To Kill a Mockingbird. He would much rather be painting or hanging out with his friends. Jack didn't take many advanced classes anyways. He wasn't stupid, he just didn't enjoy the workload and pressure it put on his shoulders. However, that didn't stop Davey from asking his boyfriend to do homework with him.
Davey was almost the complete opposite. He was in multiple AP and Honors classes and dealt with homework day and night. It was like second nature to him. Homework wasn't his favorite thing to do, but he had to get used to it. He grew up being told that school was top priority, and getting into a good college and getting a good job was important, the same speel most kids get.
Yet, both Jack and Davey sat in Jack's kitchen on a Tuesday afternoon, trying to do their chemistry homework together. Keyword: 'trying.'
"This literally makes no sense, Dave.." Jack muttered.
"Well, were you paying attention when the teacher taught it?" Davey asked, tilting his head towards him.
Jack snorted, "Of course not, I was most likely running off of 4 hours of sleep anyways and thinking about you."
"That's not healthy, Jackie," Davey said. "You need sleep to focus."
"Really? I had no clue, thanks Captain Obvious." Jack crossed his arms, leaning against Davey.
Davey looked down at the shorter boy. "What are you confused about?"
"These damn chemical equations, makes no fuckin' sense." Jack slammed his hand on his paper. "Do I have to do this? I'm barely passing the class anyways."
"Here, let me look at it." Davey slid the paper towards him, looking at the problem. "Oh, the product would be 2H 2 O + Sn."
"You're so smart." Jack smiled at his boyfriend, pressing a light kiss to his cheek. "Did I tell you that I love you?"
Davey stumbled over his words, trying to hide his obviously blushing face. As much as he loved Jack, he was always there whether you needed a distraction or not.Jack rested his chin on his hands, laughing. "Ugh, I love you."
"You're the biggest flirt I've ever met, Kelly." Davey rolled his eyes.
"And you're so easy to fluster, Jacobs."
"Oh, shut up."
"Make me."
If Davey took a perfectly timed sip of water, he would've spit it out at that moment. This boy was making it very difficult to get any work done. Davey sat there, his face turning even more red. "Oh my god, Jack," he whispered, turning away.
"What, didn't hear me the first time, David?" Jack smirked.
"Okay, do not 'David' me if you want me to kiss you," Davey said, leaning forward anyways. He gave Jack a light kiss on the lips before turning back to his work.
Jack groaned. "Is that all I get, really?"
"For being a little bitch boy and making it impossible to do homework, yes." Davey chuckled.
"Ugh, you're no fun." Jack stuck his tongue out at Davey and turned away, crossing his arms like a toddler.
"Mhm, that's me." Davey smiled, writing down the answer to one of the questions. "Here, if you do at least 2 more problems we can take a break."
Suddenly interested in homework, Jack sat up and faced the worksheet, attempting to solve the problems. Davey laughed at his sudden enthusiasm, admiring the boy. To Davey, Jack was just perfect. The way his hair was a teensy bit too long so it hung in front of his eyes, the way he stuck his tongue out while focusing, his paint-covered sweatshirts, his laugh, everything about him. Davey smiled at the sight of him.
"It's hard for me to focus if you keep on staring at me like that, y'know," Jack interrupted his thoughts.
"Hm?" Davey blinked rapidly, sitting up straighter.
Jack laughed at the boy's cluelessness. "I thought we were supposed to be doing homework?"
"If you're the homework, then yeah." Davey mumbled, thinking out loud.
Jack smirked again. "Oh, really?" He quipped.
Davey's eyes widened. "Did I say that out loud? Oh my god," He buried his face in his hands, leaning against Jack in embarrassment, causing the shorter boy to laugh. Jack pulled out his phone and took a picture of Davey.

Davey looked up from his phone and gave Jack a light punch in the arm. "Did you have to send it to the whole group chat?"
"Yes, I wanted an excuse to show off my amazing and wonderful boyfriend to my friends." Jack smiled.
Davey blushed at the comment, kissing Jack's cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too, Dave."
