They became the only other people that knew she was alive, and it joyed her to have others to interact with. But, that changed once the students began their dutiful mission rotations.
Missions we're frequent and left no time for breaks. Satoru was crowned the most unlucky since he was the only one assigned to the missions abroad. And, it was all thanks to his special grade ranking and technique. Rintaro almost never saw him, and when she did it was for a few hours before he was sent out on another.
Shoko, her only female friend, was almost never seen. She was constantly away completing her medical training. Rintaro learned that she frequently bounced from location to location with her singular mentor, in order to fully hone her reversal technique.
This left Suguru, the special grade cursed user who always remained in Japan. He became the only one to keep the lone twin company and check on her whenever he could. Luckily, he was never away more than a day at a time, so he made sure she would eat and would give Satoru updates on her condition.
The second year introduced Rintaro to a training spot that she could sneak out to whenever she became bored with watching TV. It offered her time away from the madness that was her wild thoughts, as well as the opportunity to work herself back up to the normal Gojo standard.
Which was cemented somewhere in the depths of her memories from the training she had when they were kids. Since her and Satoru were constantly training on all styles of close combat and self defense from the moment they were both able to walk. All she needed to do was bring it back through muscle memory.
"Hey, want a sparring buddy?" Rintaro turned around to see Suguru leaning against a thick tree, watching her with amusement in his dark eyes.
A light blush tinted her cheeks as she tucked her hair behind her reddening ear. Rintaro suddenly began to overthink her ability, embarrassed that she had allowed him to sneak up on her. Especially, when she was making sure to use her Six Eyes to remain alert. Has he been here this entire time...?
"Don't worry, I just got here. And from what I've seen, you've improved a lot." He smiled kindly, leaving his shaded spot under the tree to approach her. She cursed herself mentally, unsure if she exposed her thoughts aloud or not.
"Also, don't second guess yourself. I learned how to be sneaky from Satoru, himself." Suguru winked teasingly, shoving the invisible knife of embarrassment in further. "It helps that you both have the same eyes, so the same rules apply."
"How was your mission? Have you heard from him?" Rintaro ignored the idea of her having a blind spot and studied him closely. Her eyes closely noted the strategic means he stretched his body in preparation to spar her.
"Haven't heard from him, but my mission wasn't so bad. I don't know how they're becoming so frequent these days." Suguru rolled his shoulders over and then used the slight movement of his fingers to roll his sleeves higher on his forearm. "I feel like those damn things are just popping up left and right, and my inventory's full at this point."
"Enough about me, do you wanna try a cursed spirit today?" He rose an eyebrow mischievously at her, breaking her from the concentration she kept on his cursed energy levels. If there was one thing she retained from training with him, it was how fast his cursed energy could increase within the blink of an eye. And that alone scared her.
