There's no way the city was always this far. He began to feel as if they were taking too long and letting down his friend, who could possibly be dead meat at this point. He became too shrouded up in his own worries and mental battles that he neglected to realize the girl he loosely held in his arms was struggling to acclimate to the unorthodox flight. She was vigorously shivering against his body from the high speed winds Suguru forcefully pushed through, making her teeth chatter softly against each other.
"You feeling okay?" Suguru's eyes remained on the oncoming atmosphere, but he could feel how severe her shivers became. Without an answer, he carefully removed his jacket from his body, one arm at a time, to ensure he still kept some kind of hold on her. "Put it on for me, I know you're cold. I'm sweating anyways." She reached slightly out of his grasp and obediently slipped the larger clothing onto her body.
"Thank you." She partially mumbled under her breath, only for the high speed winds to take the sound from her lips before they could reach Suguru's eardrums.
"Alright, Rintaro I see the school. Get ready for impact, Im so sorry in advance." The raven haired male looked down at her for the first time their entire flight. Their eyes met piercingly, shooting arrows belonging to cupid into each other's pupils that even the wind could not deter.
He then realized that their noses were touching. And not just touching, but they were faintly grazing each other with every movement of the cursed spirit. In an instant, he straightened himself away from her and refocused on the approaching school.
As they neared the ground, Suguru dispelled the spirit. Rintaro hadn't noticed once they were actually falling, but Suguru pulled her against his body by pushing his hand into her back, and with his other he firmly held her head against his chest. He knew his move was risky, but he wanted to make sure she would walk away unharmed, even if it meant he would be walking away with a broken bone or two.
The combined duo fell onto the jarring concrete and rolled several feet away due to the impact. Suguru threw a couple "Ow"s here and there but he did his best to keep his collected attitude so Rintaro wouldn't worry about him too much.
"You couldn't land us, silly?" She erupted into a sudden fit of laughter once she saw the nest of sticks and stones that combed themselves into his dark hair. "Are you okay there, Mr. Pilot?" And then, Rintaro processed the view she was graced with... looking up at him... because he was on top of her, somehow.
"I'm sorry Rintaro, let me help you up." The second year quickly left his daze and forced himself up before lending her a hand to help her to her feet. They looked at each other quietly, chests heaving and exhales fogged by the night's cool breeze.
"Do you think he's still looking? Or do you think the guy even came here? I couldn't sense cursed energy from him, so I doubt he can get in." Suguru anxiously studied their surroundings, noting the dark woods hauntingly staring back and the empty school building behind them.
"He doesn't feel like he's in any kind of danger, plus I don't think that guy could possibly be faster than your cursed spirit." Rintaro giggled at him with blush painting her dirtied cheeks. Suddenly, the worry he held for his friend no longer existed and he could only focus on how Rintaro charmed him.
