She lifted her leg lightly to rest her sore heel atop the first step of the last staircase she would have to ascend to make it to her dorm. Hesitantly, she glanced behind her to check on Suguru, who couldn't be seen anywhere, even though she could remember him being behind her just moments ago.

But, who knew exactly how long ago that was, she couldn't tell time apart. For all she knew, time seemed to be speeding past her, yet each time it was checked, only several minutes had gone by. It was easy to tell this was the alcohols doing, but a part of her liked it, secretly enjoying the wondrous high that made her feel so courageous.

The headache that would come to her in the morning would be far worse then it was the last time when her and Suguru had their first date and unknowingly encountered the sorcerer killer, Fushiguro Toji. The man who still haunted her very dreams and made her question the existence she wasn't sure she was living through.

Following a heavy sigh, her hand tightened its grip on the pole she steadied herself on previously. Rintaro used whatever arm strength she could muster to pull her aching leg up onto the same step and then up the staircase that constantly teased her.

Her eyes remained on her bruised feet that practically swelled from the confinements of the heels she managed to slip back on, in order to keep her balance on the intimidating case of stairs. But, every few steps she found herself pausing to focus her already dizzied mind that swayed the world around her once she went too fast.

Finally, the top step was coming into view and Rintaro would no longer have to torture herself with the aspect of climbing another set of taunting steps. A few steps later, she raised her aching foot onto the solid floor, the swirling floor in front of her suddenly started to come closer by the second.

Reflexively, her hands caught herself mid air, consequently saving her body from the pain it would suffer through if she contacted the uneven flooring. She then redirected her force into her palms that supported her weight, until her hands shook and violently cowered under her, officially feeling tired out from the activities she participated in earlier.

Her sore arms didn't just give up on her, though, they fully interrupted their line of stability, sending her innocent rib cage right into the final step that previously welcomed her. "Oww!" She yelled through gritted teeth.

"Rintaro, are you okay?" Nanami quickly rushed to the weakened girl whose rib cage suffered a direct fall out with a harsh step. He stepped down beside her as she rolled onto her side to press her already tingling hands into the aching bone of her upper chest cavity.

"Lemme help you up, come on." He bent down at his knees to hook his arms underneath hers, before he gently pulled her onto her own two feet with him. Silently, he watched her dress flow back down the length of her legs while he patiently caught his exhausted breath.

"Thank you, but I'm fine now, I think my heel just got caught on the step... I'm not too sure." Rintaro spoke with a very obvious slur in her voice, one that deterred the blondes assessment of her current state.

"What's going on with you? Are you okay?" He lowered his head with a slight squint to his eyes to gain a closer look at the makeup that was smudged and rubbed across her features.
