A tragedy? Or is it?

Backroom Escape

He wants to kill us! In the very same room, we almost died in when we were 8. There has to be a way out of this room! I looked around the room hoping to see even the tiniest of detail in the darkness of the room, but to my horror I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face.

I quickly looked around the room for my backpack in the hopes that I could find my flashlight but I could not find anything on the ground no matter how much I felt around the room. He must have taken it once we were knocked out.

I am interrupted by the sounds of groans coming from the middle of the room. I go crawl over to the sound. One of my friends is waking up! I quickly shake them trying to wake them up. I can't tell which one it is in the dark though.

"Uhhh, Cassidy is that you? What happened?" I recognize the voice as Gabrial's voice. He shouted out of it and there was pain in his voice.

"Yes it's me! William knocked us out! He is planning to kill us!" I shout in panic.

I help Gabrial up to his feet and as I do he yelps in pain. It was clear that William was not playing around when he knocked us out. I could feel blood on Gabriel's shoulder as I helped him up. And now that I think about it I can feel some blood on my clothes as well, I must have not noticed because I was so freaked out about William.

"Cass, why is he leaving us alone if he plans to kill us? Why didn't he just kill us while we were unconscious?" Gabrial says as he tries to walk steadily on his feet.

"There's no time right now, I'll tell you once we find a way out of this room. He'll be coming back any moment." I say as I look for another friend's unconscious body. It takes me a minute to find them, but I feel around the floor but eventually I find one of them.

"Gabrial, follow the sound of my voice. We have to wake them up so we all can get out of here." It takes a few seconds for Gabrial to get to me. His walking sounds wobbly so he must be in great amounts of pain while walking.

I then proceed to shake the person I am holding and eventually they wake up.

"Cass?" Susie says through a pained voice. It was clear that it must hurt for her to talk.

"Here Susie lets get you up" I say as I help her to her feet. All of a suddenly Susie leans over in pain holding her stomach.

"Susie! Are you okay?!" I shout with panic in my voice.

"Ya after he knocked you out, he went on to knock us out. My stomach hurts." Susie says as she holds her stomach in pain.

We then start to look for Jeremy but it is almost impossible to find a way around in the dark. We only know where each other are because we are standing right next to each other.

"Cassidy, do you still have your backpack with your flashlight in it?" Susie asks as we continue to search around the room with no luck.

"No I don't, I lost it when William knocked us out." I say.

"Hey, I think I found the generator!" Gabriel says as we talk. We then rushed over to where we heard Gabrial's voice, and we reached out and touched the generator. I could feel the cold feeling of the metal against my hands. I felt around the generator and I felt each button on it looking for any way to start it.

I never used a generator before and neither have any of my friends, so starting this one up is going to be a little difficult.

"Great job Gabriel!" I say as all three of us work on the generator. Eventually after trying some buttons the lights suddenly flash on. My eyes close at the sudden brightness in the room. I open my eyes and the room is lit up clearly now. I could see the unconscious bodys of both Fritz and Jeremy laying on opposites of the room.

"You two can each get Jeremy! I'll go help Gabrial!" I say as I rush off to help Fritz as Gabrial and Susie go over to help Jeremy.

It's not that I don't care about Jeremy. He's one of my best friends. It's just that I have been developing feelings for Fritz lately and I would prefer to be the one to help him. If we want to get out of this room before William comes back we need to be fast. And the fastest way to do that is for each of us to do separate tasks.

"Fritz! Can you hear me?!" I shout as I hold Fritz's head. I was in complete panic. What if he doesn't wake up? Suddenly my thoughts are interrupted by Fritz breathing.

"Fritz!!!" I shout in relief.

"Cass'' Fritz moans in pain. I take a minute to look at Fritz and I am horrified at the condition he's in. His shirt is ripped out and there is blood all over him. I almost fainted. Fritz looked as if he was barely conscious. Even if he is awake we will still have to carry him.

"Cass, help" Fritz said in a weak, shaky voice.

"Don't worry Fritz I'll carry you" I say as I try to put him on my back. But right away I yelp as my legs collapse from under me. My body was in no condition to carry him and my friends are also in rough shape.

At this point the others have woken up Jeremy. Jeremy seems to be in the best condition out of all of us. It looks like he only has a black eye, William must have knocked him out fast.

"Jeremy, can you help me with Fritz?!" I yell over to Jeremy while barely keeping Fritz on my shoulder.

"Of course Cass! I'll be right over!" Jeremy says as he runs to my side to support Fritz's shoulder.

We have Fritz's shoulders supported and we try to move him to the middle of the room.

"Ok we need to find a way out now!" I say. Everyone except for me and Jeremy search the room. But after five minutes we still find no way out.

"There's no vents or anything! And the doors locked! What are we going to do?!" Gabriel shouts in panic. At this point we all panicked. How are we supposed to get out of here?!

We then hear a noise outside the door and we all turn to face it with horror on our faces.

Slowly the door creeps open but to our surprise it's not William.

The thing that opened the door had a white face that looked like a mask and a thin body. It had a stripe pattern to its arms and legs. And it had rosy red cheeks.

And all it was doing was staring at us.
