The next day after the party, you awoke with a slight hangover. The sickly sweet and tart alcohol you had consumed the night before, had apparently done you no favors as you tried to sleep off last night's events. What was more, your head was pounding not only from the nasty hangover but from the thoughts that circled through your mind constantly about your hours long conversation with Lucius last night. It felt as if you guys had developed a new level of your relationship; despite having known him for years, last night as you talked away for hours, you felt as if you really got to know him more than you ever had before. He had always been so mysterious and quiet; friendly but definitely more quiet than most of the other students. But last night as you guys talked to each other about your passions and interests, you saw a whole new brightness you had never known existed within him. His smile had seemed to pierce your soul, and you longed to see it again.

Your first day back at classes, despite your headache, was amazing. Being in your sixth year, you really felt as if your magic was advancing beautifully. You were always a bright young witch, and your grades were always top notch; you were definitely one of the smartest witches in your year. However, as you had been telling Lucius the night before, Herbology was your passion. You were in a special advanced class, and Professor Spout had put you alone in charge of the greenhouse full of flowers; some magical and some muggle species. This year, your advanced Herbology grade would depend on how well you maintained your little greenhouse full of beautiful flowers. You knew you would do well.

Your first day you had been tending to one of the more simpler breeds of flowers within the greenhouse. The very normal, yet very beautiful, muggle flower breed, the rose. You had been pruning and tending a few bushes of white roses all morning. The way in which the morning sun shown through the glass of the greenhouse and hit the white petals of the roses, with their slight dew from the humidity of the greenhouse, caused them to almost appear as if they were shimmering. The shimmering paleness of the rose petals, made your mind start to daydream about Lucius' gorgeous hair, which had grown a lot over the summer, and you remembered last night that his hair was something you couldn't stop admiring as you sat so close to him as you had talked.

As you tended your roses and thought about Lucius, the few hours in your greenhouse seemed to go by extremely quickly. You realized it was almost lunch time and your stomach was beginning to rumble, reminding you that you needed to come back to the real world.

You snipped one of the beautiful white roses off of the vine and brought it with you as you made your way out of the Herbology greenhouse and back up towards the castle to head to the Great Hall. As you walked you stared at the beautiful white rose in your hands, your fingertips brushing along the soft, silky petals. Many students were out enjoying the sunshine, which would last for about the rest of the month of September before the autumn cold set in. You smiled sweetly at many, seeing some of your good acquaintances and being a bit shy seeing so many of the older boys looking your way with interest. You weren't used to all this added attention and your pretty eyes went back to the soft petals of the rose, which seemed to shimmer even more brightly in the direct sunlight of the courtyard you were walking through.
