Your brain surprisingly was able to process what Lucius was showing you, and you noticed he looked at his arm in pure hatred and disgust and then he looked back at you, waiting for you to say something. Almost wincing as he waited, afraid you would scream or run away from him.
The Dark Mark was definitely known as a symbol of a dark wizard. Witches and wizards bearing the mark were called Death Eaters, followers of a very dark wizard named Voldemort, who had been threatening the British Wizarding World, although he hadn't been seen for years.
As Lucius stared at you with those grey eyes which were once again gleaming with the molten silver you had missed so much, you realized he had always been protecting you from not only a world in which you didn't know, but himself. He had hated who he had become, and then it all finally made sense, that one fateful day when he had broken your heart back at Hogwarts and had left you. He must have gotten the mark that weekend before he had come back to school. You even remembered when you had begged him not to leave you; you had grabbed his arm and he had winced and yelled in pain, as if you had hurt him. Now you knew...you knew he had just gotten the mark days before, and he truly must had been in incredible pain.
He had broken your heart to protect you. To separate you from him and the horrible followers of Voldemort he had been forced to follow. He had loved you then, he had loved you now. He had never stopped.
You stared at Lucius now with whole new eyes. You had thought him to be the most uncaring, horrible person for what he had done to you. Yes, you had never stopped loving him deep down, missing the old Lucius horribly, but you still had never been able to forgive him. But now, as he finally revealed to you the truth and showed his old self that you had missed so much, all of the love and adoration you had for him came flooding back and all you wanted to do was hold him in your arms and never let him go again.
"Lucius," was all you managed to get out, as you threw your arms open wide and embraced him close into your body, hugging him so tightly around his slender waist.
He held you back just as fiercely, burying his face into your wet hair, as you buried your face into his chest. Breathing in his scent you had missed beyond anything, that was now concentrated and delicious smelling against his damp, flushed skin.
You both held each other for a while, breathing hard and taking in the fact that you both were touching, holding each other, and comforting each other. Something you had both clearly needed since that day at Hogwarts all of those years ago when you had parted.Lucius said your name then with a husky voice, pulling back a bit from the embrace, so that he could bring his right hand up to cup your cheek. Your wide eyes filled with wonder and love, looking into his own, his burning silver orbs of passion.
He leaned his head in then suddenly so that your lips were just almost touching once again.
"Please," you heard and felt him whisper against your lips, asking permission to kiss you.
