The Great Hall was a sight to behold. Filled to the brim with students and faculty dressed in their finest costumes, and the magical ceiling of the Great Hall showing an eerie full moon, blanketed with a sheet of fog it really was a perfect setting for the holiday. Floating all over were hundreds of jack-o-lanterns lit up, their spooky mouths yellow-gold from the glow of the candles in them.

The middle of the hall was clear of the tables that usually filled it, however on the far end of the hall where the professors usually sat, there was one long table filled with the most delicious autumnal treats, such as pumpkin pasties, pumpk...

The middle of the hall was clear of the tables that usually filled it, however on the far end of the hall where the professors usually sat, there was one long table filled with the most delicious autumnal treats, such as pumpkin pasties, pumpkin juice, bowls of candy and goblets of other sweets and drinks.

By the time you, Amalie and Lucius arrived, the ball was already in full swing. Everyone seeming to be laughing, dancing or enjoying the wonderful treats to be had. Even some of the more stoic professors looked like they were enjoying themselves; the Halloween Masquerade was always something that everyone looked forward to, no matter their age or their interests.

As you three walked in, many eyes fell upon you, as you all clearly had the most amazing costumes of the night. You and Lucius, being more reserved and private, glanced at each other a bit uncomfortably not enjoying all of the eyes on you. However, Amalie who was the complete opposite of you both, reveled in the attention. Her face broke out into a huge smile and she grabbed you both by your hands and trotted you out to the middle of the floor.

"Dance with me!" She said as she began dancing haphazardly to the music that the live band was playing, drawing even more attention to herself. She grabbed your hand harder, pulling you closer to her, making your body move crazily in the same way that hers was as you laughed nervously. You both must have been quite a scene, devil and angel, dancing together like only best friends could. Lucius wasn't dancing but eyeing you both with amusement as he chuckled at how insane you both looked.

He rolled his eyes, "I'll leave you two to be your weird selves," Lucius smirked as he began walking towards the table at the far end to most likely grab a drink.

"No Lucius, dance with us!" Amalie said loudly at him.

"Yes, stay," you said more quietly and directly to him, your eyes pleading with him not to leave you as you swayed your body still dancing with Amalie.

"Well...I suppose...since you want me so badly," he joked as he smirked at you. You knew what he meant, the innuendo of it, but you knew it would not register in Amalie's head what he meant, which caused you to smirk back. "But just one dance...and then I need to get a drink," he said as he showed you the inside of his black cloak which had a little pocket in which he quickly showed you both that he had a silver flask, most likely filled with the green alcohol that Slytherin was known for.

"Naughty," you chuckled as you and Amalie took his hands and forced him to dance with you both.

"Only for you," he said so quietly under his breath as he moved near your ear briefly as he danced around you both.
