"Greetings everyone, my name is Arthur Leywin. Much like my comrades, I have been entrusted and hand-picked for the position of Captain of the Disciplinary Committee by Director Goodsky herself. Despite only being a first year here at the Academy, I am the continent's first Quadra elemental mage, with a deviant capability in ice and lightning."
I could hear most of the students murmuring amongst themselves in disbelief, and I noticed my fellow DC member's jaws drop for a moment.
To prove it, I pulled the relic blade out of the floor, holding it horizontally and infusing every element into it one-by-one.
Gasps of surprise filled the auditorium, with everyone in a sense of shock and awe. I put my blade into the floor again, and continued my speech.
"With so many Elves and Dwarves joining us in Xyrus Academy this year, dispute and conflict is bound to occur. With this, the main goal of the Disciplinary Committee is to uphold the rules of this school, and to ensure the safety of each and every student, no matter their race, lineage or social status."
You could feel the discontent radiating from the spoilt nobles present, with a scowling face present on each of them. On the contrary, many of the other students seemed satisfied with these conditions, knowing that they would be protected from tyrants.
"I can Imagine many of you would not see me as worthy to hold such a position, and to those of you who believe me to be unfit, I tell you this: Challenge me! If you are capable of beating me in a one-on-one duel, I relinquish my position as Captain to you, with full permission from the Director."
"I'm gonna beat his ass!"
"He's done."
"I'm a yellow core, no way he can beat me!"
With this proposition, many students got fired up with the possibility of taking my position. Little did they know that....
I was the better swordsman.
"To those who will seek me out, and intend to take my title, I give you but a warning. I will show no mercy."
With the conclusion of my speech, most of the students stood up and applauded, whilst a few recoiled in fear.
I pulled the tip of the blade out of the floor once more, storing it within the dimensional ring. All of the DC members bowed, before leaving the stage.
As I left, I looked towards Tessia for a split second. On her face was THE smuggest grin I have ever seen her wear, as if to say 'I can't wait to see it'.
She then took centre stage once again and concluded the session, dismissing all students to their classes.
As we entered the back room, the DC members turned to me with looks of disbelief, none of them knowing what to say.
"I know you all have a lot of questions, but let's wait until after classes." I said, pointing everyone out.
With that, we all left, and I headed towards my first class of the day, Fundamentals of Magic Theory.
I took the long way around campus to reach class, to perform my role as a DC member, making sure everyone got to class safely. I could hear a lot of whispers amongst students as I passed in the hallways, many complimenting me on my looks, Sylvie's cuteness, and empty threats. It would appear all of these kids were all bark and no bite.
Typical nobles...
After a few minutes, I entered the classroom, where I proceeded to spot Elijah in the back of the room, saving me a seat. His eyes filled with excitement and rage.
