Arthur Leywin POV
Ugh, my head...
I've just woken up from what feels like being hit by a damn car. My body felt fine in general, only a little stinging coming from my left shoulder, and a bit of a headache.
Opening my eyes, I was currently in my room at the Helstea Estate. On the side of the bed, Sylvie's sleeping body laid beside me, her chest swaying rhythmically. On my left, a familiar head of gunmetal hair sat on a chair to the side, supporting herself on the mattress of the bed as she also slept.
Pulling my upper body to a sitting position, I looked out the window, only to find that it was likely about early evening.
With both of my hands, I gently nudged both of my companions.
"Wake up, you two." I half-whispered. Tessia immediately groaned in an unsatisfied tone before looking up at me."What, not happy to see me?" I teased, causing her eyes to go wide, and a massive smile to plaster her face.
"You're awake!" She threw herself onto the bed, accidentally making Sylvie roll off and fall onto the floor with a thud.
"Ouch!" I heard my bond's voice from below us. After a few seconds, she came up into view, rubbing the back of her head with a pouting look.
Tess kept her arms wrapped around me, completely ignoring the annoyed dragon as she smothered me in kisses, Sylvie changing her expression to a coy smile.
"Welcome back to the land of the living, papa." She climbed on as I swung one of my arms around her small figure.
"How long was I out for?" I questioned the two of them, causing Tess to finally pull back, giving me a little space.
"About... 4 hours, give or take." My fiancé clarified with a cute expression. Unfortunately, that changed quite quickly as she proceeded to punch me in the arm, her brow furrowing and her arms crossing.
"You should have told me about the plan, dummy." She averted her gaze, pretending to be annoyed with me. I brought my hand up to her head, gently patting her hair in an attempt to soothe her worries.
"Sorry Tess. I... I was just worried about putting you in harm's way." I grabbed the back of her head, pulling us both into a heartfelt hug.
As we sat like that, I began to hear soft sniffles coming from behind me as Tessia's body began to shake slightly.
"Tess, are you alright?" I asked in a worried voice.
"You... You need to stop scaring me like this, A-Art. I'm gonna die early from heart attacks." She stuttered in between sobs, pulling herself away and hitting my chest with the bottom of her fists in a sweet attempt to harm me.
"I'm sorry. And I promise to try and be more careful from now on." I grabbed both of her hands, pulling her closer and landing a soft kiss on her lips.
What started as a small peck quickly turned into something more aggressive as Tess fell into me, grabbing my cheeks and pulling me closer.
"Ahem!" Sylvie fake coughed, getting the attention from the both of us. "You still have more people to greet papa. You two can have your lovey-dovey time later."
Tess' face flushed red as I scratched my cheek with an embarrassed chuckle. I flung my legs to the side and hopped out of bed before making my way to the door, both girls in tow.
The three of us walked down the hall and made our way towards the main sitting area. Upon arriving, we found mom and dad sat with Vincent and Tabitha. Ellie looked like she was fast asleep, with her head on mom's lap.
