"I demand Clive Graves be expelled immediately." I spoke, letting some of my pressure out of my core.
Goodsky looked back down to her desk in disappointment. Not in me, but in... herself?
"I'm sorry, Arthur. I truly am." She looked back up, meeting my gaze. "We've been considering our options, but house Graves holds too much power in Sapin. The most I can do is suspend him for a week and strip him of his title as Vice-President for his actions. But I cannot expel him..."
"I thought you said this was YOUR school. Are you going back on your word of keeping these students safe?!" My anger was evident as I raised my voice and slammed my fist on the table.
(A/N): Angry Zavala moment.
"I can't expel him because of our promise, Arthur." Her shoulders slumped. "I also promised to keep your family safe whilst you are here. But if I expel Clive for this, they WILL go after your loved ones... They've done it before..."
"What about my engagement? I could care less for my future title as 'Prince of Elenoir' but would that affect the situation?" I racked my brain for any solution I could muster.
"That wouldn't make it any better. Worst case scenario, it could even spark another war between Humans and Elves."
The room fell into a deafening silence as we all contemplated our options.
"I'm sorry Art..." Kathlyn broke the silence as she laid a hand on my shoulder in consolidation.
"So be it." I uttered in a frustrated tone. "But I will say this. No matter my position, if that bastard harms Tessia again, I WILL kill him."
After a long sigh from Director Goodsky, she gave me a sheepish nod, knowing she wouldn't shake my resolve.
As I was about to leave the room, I turned to Professor Glory.
"What is Clive's condition?"
"Unconscious and weak from blood loss, but they managed to reattach the missing portion of his hand." She growled, as frustrated with her student as I was.
Kathlyn and I left the office, heading back to our building.
"Art... Go and take care of Tessia, leave the paperwork to me." She raised her voice in concern.
I nodded without making eye contact, my mood shifting from anger to disappointment.
On the way back, I decided to split off from Kathlyn and went to the corner store on campus. Purchasing a sweet beverage and some snacks, I left the establishment.
As I exited the store, I ran into an acquaintance of mine, Joshua.
"Hey Artie, didn't expect to see ya here." He spoke with an dumb smile. "Why'd ya look so down?"
"Some shit happened. I'm sure it will be announced tomorrow morning." I said, my eyes downcast.
"Does it have to do with that shithead Clive by any chance?" I looked up in shock at his words.
"How do you-"
"This is Xyrus, Art. Word always travels pretty quick." He gave a small smile "Anything I can do to help? Paperwork? Beat someone up?" He giggled as he patted my back.
"Actually, Kathlyn decided to do my paperwork for the day. Could you maybe help her out?"
"Kathlyn Glayder? No probz! I'm actually pretty buddy-buddy with Curtis."
"Thanks, she should be in the main DC office." I pointed towards the SCDC building. "In the meantime, I need to get this stuff to Tessia."
"Take care, and send her my regards." He waved me off as he entered the store I had just left.
