Arthur Leywin POV
Endless void. Black and purple as far as I can see. Stuck in a perpetual limbo, existence paradoxical by nature.
Swinging on the thin line between life and death.
I've been stuck in this place for as long as I can remember. It feels like I only just... Just what? I can't remember anymore. Whatever happened may have been a second or a millennia ago.
Time is not a concept here. The fabric of space and time appears irrelevant, broken on a whim, inconsequential.
The empty existence of darkness and the blinding purple seem to fight for dominance as one extends, the other shrinks... Can I even see them? I don't feel my eyes.
I don't feel a thing. Etherical, in a sense I suppose.
It has felt like an eternity since the two shades began to fight for dominance as the light seemed to slowly but surely overcome the dark. Existence, if you can even call it that slowly became enveloped by this purple light until it was all that existed.
As light became totalitarian, I felt my entire body enter into shock.... Wait, body? I could feel things around me!
Opening my eyelids, I gained awareness of myself once more despite my massive headache. I stared at the red ceiling for what felt like forever as I began to feel my muscles once more.
I lifted my upper body shakily as I looked around me. The room was gorgeous, a sleek color scheme consisting of black and red, gold ornamentation scattered around the furniture and walls.
An eerie silence occupied the entire room, the only sound being heard was the rustling of sheets under me. Looking down towards myself, my body looked... normal?
Memories of what had happened the last time I was conscious flooded my mind, recalling the cold, dark feeling that consumed me.
I shuffled to the side of the bed before propping myself onto my own two legs, attempting to get my strength back. After a few moments of holding on for dear life, I managed to slowly walk to the door in front of the bed.
Walking through, I was met by an equally beautiful hallway, similar to the bedroom. Supporting myself on the wall, I slowly made my way down the hall.
I couldn't find any windows along where I walked, and with the lack of any personnel in these hallways, I could only assume it was late at night. Eventually making my way to a large set of double doors, I found two guards.
They both looked at me suspiciously as I approached them at the speed of a crawl. They exchanged glances with each-other before one of them began to walk up to me.
"Excuse me, what are-" His eyes widened in some sort of shock before turning towards his colleague.
"Dear god Nicolas, he's awake!" He shouted. The second ran over, his expression of equal shock before he pulled out a communication device.
"Captain, Leywin is awake and with us. Requesting orders." He spoke with a shaky voice.
"I'm on my way." The communication dropped in an instant. After no longer than two minutes, an ornamented guard came rushing over.
He approached me to confirm my identity before signalling me to follow.
"Arthur Leywin. Come with me, please." He spoke briefly, giving me a shoulder to lean on, supporting my still flimsy body.
We slowly but surely made our way towards a large room, filled with tables and eating facilities. He sat me down before heading towards the present cooks, likely preparing for breakfast.
