Chapter 23 - Rebirth

Arthur Leywin POV

It has been two weeks since me and Tessia received the elixir pears from Agrona. Our cores and subsequently, our strength jumped up massively in level in light of this, but it took a few days to get used to our new mana capabilities.

Sylvie seems to be as happy as ever as she spends time with her mama and papa, alongside her blood Father. A-bro-na even said that she'll soon be able to start her pure mana training!

Apparently all negotiations between the Council and the Vritra have been moving successfully since the carriageway locomotive vehicle was introduced as the future method of cargo transport. Its speed and load capacity coupled with its already similar component integrity to the Dicathius allowed both continents to begin on their respective projects.

And as funny as it is, Gideon seems to be trying to give me special treatment during classes in thanks for the assistance and brainstorming.

The world was evolving nicely, as are both me and my fiancé. Tess' integration phase is roughly, and miraculously halfway complete and should only take another two or so weeks to finish up. Meanwhile I've been constantly meditating in an effort to break through to the Solid Silver Stage. I was so close I could practically feel it.

And here we were, laying in bed. A new day was upon us as we were still cuddled up, waiting to wake up.

As I came to my senses, I could feel her body warmth pushed against me. Without opening my eyes, I could feel her soft silky hair wrapped up in my hands, her steady breathing as she slept and her flat body pushed up against- WAIT A SECOND, FLAT?!

I jerked my eyes open and threw myself back in a sudden movement, almost falling off the bed. Rubbing my eyes, a small sleeping figure showed itself to me. Lush blonde hair that came down to her waist was scattered all over the covers, a matte black dress covered her from the shoulders to the knees.

The girl was tiny, and looked no older than five. Now only one question remained.

WHO THE HELL IS THIS, AND WHY ARE THEY IN OUR BED?!

My mind raced with a thousand possibilities. Did I cheat on Tessia? With a fucking loli no less?! Taking me out of my trance, the shuffling of a gunmetal haired girl brought my attention back to the bed.

"Mmmm... Morning Art, sleep well?" She greeted me with a yawn.

I remained silent, still in shock, and racking my brain for an explanation, and as a last resort, a lie Tess would believe.

"Arthur? What's wro-" Realizing I wasn't speaking a word, she looked up to me before finally spotting the figure who had been laid in between us in the corner of her eye.

Her face instantly turned beet red with anger, or was it embarrassment? She looked towards me with disbelief, to which I could only shake my hands and head.

"Tess, I don't know-" A thumb shut me up as Tess hit me dead centre in the face with a pillow.

"ARTHUR WHAT THE HELL?!" She screamed. I could only stare at the two of them in disbelief.

Likely from the shouting, the sleeping girl began to shift, before waking herself up. She sat herself upright before looking towards the disturbance. Spotting Tessia, she smiled happily.

"Goob morning mama!" She tried to move to hug Tessia before falling face first on the bed as her arm seemed to give out.

Mama? Did she just call Tessia... Mama?

Wait a second...

"SYLVIE?!" Both of us shouted in tandem, shock and surprise running through me.
