Frankie's: POV
Quinn and I were in the school yard talking about our assignment we had to do for language arts class
Quinn my mom said you can over on Saturday
So we can work on our paper. Do you decide on a topic for our paper, Ms. Anderson said it's worth 60% towards our final grade. So we gotta Ace this project Francesca said
Frankie relax it's gonna be okay, l think we should a family tree. We're going to need pictures of each of our family, two poster boards a glue and some 5 by 7 cards
The one with the lines so we write notes on them
What are you doing for the Thanksgiving holiday
Quinn asks me. My grandparents are coming over to our new house for dinner, my mom and grandma are cooking
While my other mother grandfather watch the basketball
Game on TV. Francesca responds, Frankie you are so lucky to have too moms, my parents have been arguing a lot lately. They try to act like everything is all Cool
When I come in the room, l think they might get a divorce
Cause all they fight all the time. Mom's cries a lot
I heard dad say he's got offered another job in another state, Quinn said. Frankie feels bad for her new best friend.
Quinn l'm sure everything will be okay, Frankie States
Sometimes I wish it was just me and my mother
Cause Dad's been drinking lately, he doesn't think l know
My mother stays locked up in her room lately Quinn replied. Francesca doesn't give a response, she just listens to her friend vent. The bell rings, they go stand in line
And wait for the teacher to come out to get the class
Francesca's never been in Quinn's situation before
Ok course her parents have little disagreements
But it never last long. They tend to make up the same day
Alright everyone line up in single file, the teacher says
Everybody does as their told. Francesca's glad school is almost over for the day, she just wants to go home and start on her homework and spend time with both her parents. She can't imagine her mom's splitting up
Frankie does not allow the thought to enter her mind
We enter in the classroom and take there seats at their desks and copy the notes off the black board the teacher put up while we were at recess. I copied everything from the board, we have twenty minutes before the final bell rings. I tell myself, momma picking me and Ariana up
Mommy told me this morning when she dropped us off at school this morning. Mommy's letting me help her
And Gram cook with them for Thanksgiving, momma and mommy's friends are coming over. There bringing their daughter's Zara and Madison they are fraternal twins
Their nine years old, they go to my school. There my mom's Goddaughter's. I don't see them that much
Because they are involved in after school activities
Zara does gymnastics and Madison's on the swim team
I haven't been in this school long enough to participate in any sports yet. I probably sign up for the cooking and sewing club, that starts up in January.
