Lena's: POV
Ariana and I woke up bright and early so we could get a jump start. For our commute to Rochester New York to see the light show, what l didn't realize it was 5 hours away. Which means we would have to stay over night
in a hotel, that l haven't made reservations for
Hopefully we can get a room at a nice inn somewhere in touch. Plus l'm gonna have to take Sofia with us because my parents went to Baltimore for the day, l don't like breaking promises to our children, l packed us an overnight bag for our trip. I made sure to bring Sofia's doggie treats and, we feed Sofia dry and wet food
in this situation I decided on dry. We've just finished having breakfast, l've taking Sofia out for her morning walk. I got everything put in the trunk, Ariana went to the bathroom, before we leave the house. I have the directions already put it my GPS navigation system
Ariana Came back down the stairs. I'm glad l went to the gas station just the other day, l put Sofia in her pet carrier
I double check to see if everything was locked up
As l head out the front door. I turned on the alarm
We leave the security cameras on anytime we're away from the house, there around the front and the back of the house. I get Ariana settled inside her booster seat
I sat Sofia's carrier on the seat in the backseat, l've decided to drive the minivan today. We usually use it when we on road trips on vacations, it was a good investment
It's a five seater. It can fit up to ten people, it has a portable DVD player built into the car. It keeps Ariana occupied, l slid over in the driver seat. Fasten up my seat belt, started up the engine. and back up out of the driveway, then drove down the road. And jumped on to the expressway. I looked through my rear view mirror and saw that Ariana had drifted off to sleep, we woke up pretty early. I'm kinda we didn't run into much traffic
We've been on the road for almost four hours now,
I got off the next exit. And drove through town
And I saw all the nice houses decorated with bright lights
The decorations on the front lawn were Santa Claus
Frosty the snowman and so many other figurines display
Helps me think about my own childhood. I remember when I was Ariana's age or a little older, my parents took me driving around the neighborhood and I seen how the people's houses were beautifully set up. From that moment on, l enjoyed Christmas. I want my kids to have the same kind of experience. This damn gps is taking all over, l think moving here to Manhattan was the best decision. Even though I missed San Francisco at times
I pulled up to the park we're they were having the light show.
