Lena's: POV
I came home from my morning run and took a shower
Now I'm in the kitchen preparing Sunday dinner for my family. I am a whole chicken breast, baked macaroni and cheese from scratch and broccoli. For dessert l made a gluten free strawberry shortcake, l love cooking
We always have a big meal on Sundays. For Christmas l have already got my menu planned out. Stef wasn't here when l returned, she said something about taking the kids ice skating. Dad called me a few hours ago telling me Stef came over to pick up the girls, l know he was fishing around for information. I had nothing to give him
Everyone that knows how l am, l don't believe in discussing my business with people. Even relationships
Everything's in the oven cooking, l poured myself a glass of wine. Hopefully Stef and I won't have another repeat about last night. I know we're gonna have to have a conversation, l've thinking about it all day when I went for my run this morning. I just don't wanna go through another pregnancy again, l wrapped up a few presents
I turned on the TV and watched the cooking channel
Christmas is only two days away l can't wait to see my parents reaction when they find out their going on a cruise for two weeks. My travel agent told me there's so many activities on the boat, l'm not sure we're Stef's taking me on our honeymoon after our wedding. I wouldn't mind going on a carnival cruise. Sofia's around here somewhere, she enjoyed our little outing at the park
I set the timer for the food. Tomorrow's Christmas Eve
Lena got up from the couch and went to check on dinner
She put on a pair oven mitts. And open up the stove and took out the Mac and cheese, she set it up on the counter
Lena then went and got out the roasting pan with the baked chicken inside. She removed the lid, the meat was a golden brown nicely moist. Lena figures she'll wait until it cool down some, before slicing it. The macaroni and cheese, looked perfect Lena got out the plates from the cabinet and went to set the table. She knows Stef and the kids would be hungry when they come home, she went to get the sliverware. Thank God for placemats, Sofia begins barking as usual. This was normal thing for her to do
Stef must be pulling into the driveway. Lena always enjoyed spending time with Stef and the girls, they were her life. Baby we're home Stef calls out from the foyer
I'm in the kitchen. Something sure smells good Stef said
As she came into the kitchen, she greeted me with a peck on the lips. Why don't you and you get washed up dinners is just about ready, please let the girls know to go wash
Their hands. I asked Stef, yeah l'll let them know now
Stef replied. She leaves out the kitchen while I go into the pantry and get Sofia's dog food out. I poured some dry food in her bowl, l rised out her dish and filled it up with fresh cold water. Slow down baby l tell Sofia as she's munching down, l put the bowl back on the floor
I closed the bag back up and put it back in the pantry
Lena washed her hands in the sink.
