Stef's: POV
It's always something going on in San Francisco
I locked the house up and got in the car. Fasten my seat belt, started up the vehicle and drove off. As soon as hopped on to the highway, son of bitch we're the hell did these cars come from. This is one thing I don't miss about living in the suburbs of San Francisco, traffic is always congested this time of Day. Something told me l should have earlier, l hope Frankie is enjoying herself with her friends. Mariah took the girls skating, l still have to take Francesca shopping for a new bedroom set tomorrow
I was thinking of heading back to Manhattan a day early and surprise Lena. I came here to do what I accomplished
I was considering going to see my mother again, but I decided against it after our last visit didn't go as planned
Hopefully she gets herself together, l feel a little better after speaking with her doctor. Help put me at ease
I just hate seeing her in that state of mind, l think it stated
After my father died. She was fine one minute and the next, she was a completely different person. The nerve of her to blame Lena for my transformation. Deep down l believe she's jealous of Lena because Lena brought her parents a house and nothing for her. What mom fail to realize, Lena purchased their house before I met her
So mom shouldn't be in her feelings. I didn't have control over the situation at the time, l'm the financial advisor over all the affairs of the money. I get a say on how everything she spent in our house hold, l never once tried to take advantage of her for her money. I know Lena is a extremely wealthy woman, of course she never revealed how she came into all that money and l never asked her
She always treated me to fancy restaurants and we traveled to exotic islands. I would never in a million years
Use her, l fell in love with Lena as a person. She didn't go around town bragging about her riches. After speaking with my future father in law, l gave Stuart my word to always protect Lena and never allow none to hurt her
That's a promise l'm willing to keep. But l'm sure she's told her parents about what my mother said to her, even if she did. Dana nor Stuart has confronted me about it
I know I should have come to Lena's defense against my mom, l didn't want her thinking l'm taking sides
Traffic was finally picking up some. Lena's four years older than me, she never made me feel less than
Lena just helped me see life in a different prospective
I just don't get why my mother has it out for Lena so much
She liked her in the beginning. She even named our first born in honor of my dad, it brought tears to my eyes
I can't let my mom ruin my chance at happiness. She'll have to get over it, cause l'm not leaving Lena and we the family we created. My phone suddenly rings and l see Lena's picture appeared on the screen, l pushed talk
I have cell hooked up to the Bluetooth speaker in the car
Good afternoon gorgeous l said to her. Hi my love
How are ya, she responded. Better now that I here your sexy voice. Stef replies, what's going on in sunny San Francisco. Lena says to me, not to much l'm on my way to pick up Frankie from the skating rink, how's everything going there. I asked her, oh you know l've cleaned up the house from top to bottom. I'm just finishing up the laundry, Lena replied. Wow that sounds like fun
I chuckled, yeah yeah smart ass Lena replies
Seriously how are you doing really and please don't lie to me. Cause I know you were hurt by some of the things your mother said to you the other day, she inquiries
I forget how transparent you are. I'm a little better than I was yesterday, after talking to Mom's doctor. She kinda helped me understand mom's condition, l accepted mom gets like this when she doesn't take her medication
And I don't want you blaming yourself neither
I know she said some things that hurt your feelings as well baby so don't say it didn't. I said to my other half
It wasn't easy to hear what she said to me, it did hurt
But when you didn't come to my rescue. I was mad that you didn't stand your ground, there's no sense on dwelling on it now. It is what it is, Lena replies. I'm taking in everything that she's saying to me, you don't know how truly sorry I am for not having your back. I tell Lena
She doesn't respond, l hear you Stephanie. Enough of this conversation. Where's baby girl at she's awfully quiet
I asked Lena, oh Ariana's playing with Sofia as usual
Keeping herself entertained until I'm done with the clothes. I promise her we could watch movies together
She wanted to go out, l told her no and she understood
So tomorrow l'm gonna take her to the light show in Rochester New York. We might stay over night
I'm not sure yet, l'm still trying to figure everything out
