Andy wanted to make it feel like it was Christmas like in the movies with snow like "Christmas in Connecticut." So, he decided to take me ice skating after work.
"Darling you gotta move faster then that," Andy said from in front of me.
He was holding onto my hands and we were currently going around the rink. For a Wednesday, it was quite.
"I'm trying my best love," I said chuckling.
"You won't fall darling trust me," Andy said reassuringly.
I tried moving my feet faster but it wasn't as easy as rollerskating.
"It's just like roller skating," Andy told me.
"It's not these are blades," I replied chuckling.
"Well still darling shake it," Andy said in response.
So, I shook back and forth.
"No no no darling not like that," Andy said pausing.
"Well that was your instructions," I said chuckling.
"Like this darling," Andy said striding with one foot in front of the other.
He circled back towards me.
"Like this?" I said trying to copy his actions.
"Yes darling keep going," Andy said as he grabbed my hand.
I sort of loss my balance and fell on my butt.
"Ouch," I mumbled to myself.
"Darling are you ok?" Andy asked bending down to help me up.
"Yes my tailbone just hurts," I replied struggling to get up.
"Let's go sit down," Andy said helping me to the side of the rink.
"I hope I didn't break anything," I mumbled.
"I don't think so darling I mean," Andy said blushing.
"Please don't finish that statement love," I said chuckling.
"I erm ok," Andy said as we found a bench to sit down on.
"Owww," I said as I sat down.
"I think you could have bruised it," Andy said.
"Ya don't say?" I said chuckling.
"I mean," Andy said flustered.
"It's ok love," I said leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Do you wanna go get a drink or something?" Andy asked me.
"That would be lovely love," I said trying to get up.
Andy and I switched out the skates for our shoes and went and got a hot cocoa though it was nearly 60 degrees outside.
"Do we need to go to the ER?" Andy asked as we found a table to sit while we drank our refreshments.
"No I think a warm shower will be fine when I get home," I replied.
"Just making sure darling," Andy replied drinking his hot cocoa.
"I wish it was Christmas every day," I told Andy.
"I know darling. This time of year is so special," Andy replied as he looked at me.
"Right? I just wish it would get cold enough to snow," I replied sipping my cocoa.
"We could go somewhere for Christmas?" Andy asked me.
I never thought of celebrating Christmas out of town.
"Really? To where?" I asked him.
"Well where does it snow at Christmas? Like Denver?" Andy asked.
I chuckled because the way his accent sounded when he said "Denver."
"Why are you laughing darling?" Andy asked me.
"The way you said "Denver" it sounded adorable," I replied chuckling.
"Denver, Denver, Denver," Andy said to me.
I giggled again.
"But I don't know if we could be away that long because of your work," Andy told me.
"That's true love. Maybe next year when I'll be done with school and the record store," I replied.
"It'll be just a lovely day either way," Andy replied.
"In Beverly Hills, LA," I sang.
We enjoyed the rest of our date.
