By Lunchtime I was completely exhausted and I collapsed outside the door to the room once again. That was difficult, but it was good training. I already feel like my reflexes are getting better.
"I have to say that I am impressed you only have scratches in you. I thought for sure an arrow would hit you or something else for that matter. Still until you can get through this without any wounds I cannot move onto the next stage of your training. Get some food and get some rest, we will pick this back up tomorrow morning," Captain said and I nodded firmly.
Still is it possible for anyone to get through this room without even a single scratch. My clothes are tore up all over and the scratches are bleeding like crazy. They might not be that serious, but they hurt like hell. Can I really keep this up for another day? Captain left while I was lost in thought and after a few more minutes I got up and headed to my room to change, then I'll head down to the dining hall. I'm starving, but I'm also sore all over and it was hard to walk.
Once at my room I sighed and grabbed some clothes. I hopped into a nice warm shower to clean the blood and sweat off of me. When I finished showering I bandaged myself up and got dressed. I wondered where my friends went off to. There were three of them there earlier, but only captain was there when I was done. Knowing Max he probably went off to train feeling useless just standing around watching. Perhaps the other two felt the same way.
I looked at my bed and then back at the door. I'm tired, but my muscles won't heal much if I don't eat so my bed will have to wait for now. Instead of getting into my comfortable inviting bed I opened the door and slowly made my way to the dining room.
Dustin stopped me just down the hall from my room. I expected him to tell me how lame or useless I looked, but instead he threw one of my arms around his shoulder and helped me walk.
"I know you're hungry, but I wanted to talk to you for a minute if you can spare some time," he said and I looked at him. He had such a serious expression on his face and he was actually being kind of nice for once.
"I've got time to spare. Can you wait till after lunch or do you want to talk right now?" I asked him.
"I'd rather do it now, before I change my mind," he said. I nodded and he led me to an empty storage room. Clearly this was important and he didn't want anyone to over hear it. He lowered me to sit on a box and stepped away from me.
"So what do you want to talk to me about?" I asked.
"A few things are on my mind, but first, I'm sorry about your friends. It's my fault they were attacked. You see I have a younger sister, well Half-Sister. The dark guild found out and took her. If I didn't provide them with information on our guild they'd kill her.
I - I told them about your friends, I had no choice. However, I haven't told them anything about what you said in that room and I don't know what to do. If they find out I withheld information I'm sure they'll kill her, but at the same time if they know what I know they'll come after you and the guild.
The reason they threatened us to begin with is because they think someone here has that sword of yours. I had thought about just handing you and that sword over, but I really don't want to give them any more power than they already have," he said. So he's a spy for the dark guild? I didn't see that coming at all.
"Okay, so what exactly do you plan on doing then? I mean why tell me all of this?" I asked.
"Because I want to know what you got us all into? I want to know what is so special about that sword? No, I need to know if it's worth risking my sister's life for," he said.
"The sword is known as the "Angel Sword", it can grant whoever wields it almost god like powers. However, if you aren't worthy of such power it can destroy your body in return for grating you it's power. It might not last long, but it can wipe out a city or two in the time it takes to destroy you. It's on par with Excalibur and other ancient and powerful swords, but isn't as well known. That's because the ones who were worthy used it for good and the ones who weren't died," I said. I needed him to know how dangerous it would be if the wrong person got their hands on it. "I have a question for you now. Since this dark guild is after that sword, are they the ones who also killed my friend Shay?" I asked.
"I'm not sure, but it is likely. They are brutal. What will you do now, knowing all of what I told you?" he asked.
"I'm not sure. I definitely can't let them have the sword, but would it be smart to leave the guild to protect it and everyone else. Plus if I run and take the sword they'd probably figure out you told me and your sister will be killed. If I stay and keep the sword hidden would it really be right to put the whole guild in harms way? I just don't know what the right thing to do right now is," I mumbled.
"Now you understand my dilemma. I don't want to lose my sister, but I don't want to lose the guild either. One life or many? It's not an easy decision to make and she's family so it makes it harder for me," he said sitting on an old bucket after turning it over.
"Maybe we should explain this all to the Captain. I mean it's too big of a decision for either of us to make. I'm sure he will understand," I said.
"What if he decides to give you up or decides to let my sister die? I don't know how he'll react to be honest. In any case I didn't really think you would react so well either. I mean your friends died because of me. I expected you to hit me or at least yell at me," he said.
"I am pissed, however I understand the position you are in and why you did it. I think I would have done the same if it were me, especially if I hated the person at the center of the chaos. But that was all before we became friends. You can trust me and trust the guild too," I said.
"Why - Why are you so damned stubborn. I told you didn't I we aren't friends," he said and I smiled.
"You felt like you could bring this to me even though you could have kept quiet. You apologize to me for everything else and you trusted me to listen even when you were afraid how I'd react. I wouldn't exactly call us enemies anymore, would you?" I asked. His breath caught and I saw tears fighting to come out in his eyes.
"Anyways, after lunch let's go talk to Captain together," I said. He nodded and I stood. "We'll figure this all out and I'm sure we'll find a way to get your sister back as well," I added and rest my hand on his shoulder before heading out towards the dining hall.
All of this just made my anger towards that Dark Guild even stronger. They'll regret coming after my guild and me. I got my food and angrily sat down at our table. I'm so pissed I can't hide my anger. When I told Dustin I was mad I meant it. Everything I have been going through has been caused by that damn guild and their making Dustin go through all this turmoil because of me. He apologized for this situation, but I should be the one apologizing to him for getting him mixed up in this.
"Damn I'm so pissed off," I mumbled and stabbed my steak with my fork. Everyone just stared at me confused. "Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind," I mumbled to them and started eating.
"Did something happen with your training?" Nash asked. I shook my head and sighed.
"No. It's nothing. All I can say is that damned Dark Guild has made a big mistake comeing after us," I muttered and finished my food.
"I'm not sure why you're so worked up, but I agree with that statement," Naxos said.
