We went back and forth for a while. I managed to block most if his attacks but did get nicked by a couple of them. We had to part as we both dodged a stray fireball from below. It was hot but neither of us missed a beat as we started again.

He managed to get a good punch in and I hit the ground below. As I was trying to get my barings he jumped down as well. I haven't been punched like that in a while. I faced off with him again.

"Just give it up, Boy, you are not going to win this battle anyways. Just tell me where the Sword is and we'll be on our way. No one else will have to die here today," he said. Maybe he's right, I should just give it to him and protect my family.

"The thing about Tyrian is that he doesn't give up so easily. As long as the boy can move he won't back down from what he believes in," Master said coming around the building. He's right I can't give in.

They're a dark guild, how could I ever trust his word they'd leave after they get the sword? And who's to say what he'll do with the sword once he has it. He could kill millions of people if it's used wrong. I hate myself for considering it for even a second. That's not me and I won't let him have it as long as I draw breath.

"Master, thank you for coming here, but go help the others. I've got this fight, that teleporter and a really powerful guy are going to attack the others," I said as I blocked the man's sword again. Master hesitated to leave and I told him, "You're just going to distract me so please go." It might have been a little harsh, but it was true. It was the best way to word that he'd be in the way if he tried to help me. He hesitantly hurried back around the building and my full attention went back to my opponent.

"Pretty bold to have a conversation mid battle and to send your only back up away," he said to me as he backed off a little.

"He was in the way. Besides, you and I aren't done. I have a lot of questions for you, since you seem to know so much about my life that I don't know," I replied.

"If you'd let me remove your memory blocker you could also know what I know. But since you don't want that I have nothing else to say to you. Since you're going to die here tonight anyways, why waste my breath," he said and attacked again. I dodged and then blocked his next swing.

We continued for another five or so minutes back and forth, when something weird happened. His sword came at me in what should have been a fatal blow, but it veered slightly and cut me on my shoulder. It's almost like what happened before in training. What was causing that to happen? Did someone put a protection spell on me? If so why and who?

He jumped back and stared at me for a minute. It was like he was just as confused. He then seemed to realize something as his face went from confused into a knowing smile. To further verify what I suspected he spoke.

"I see, your parents are still protecting it and you from the grave. I guess I know why I couldn't find it after all these years. Sixteen years of my life wasted," he said and I didn't understand any of what he was saying. All I understood from that was my parents - most likely my biological parents - are the ones who put the protection spell on me. Did that mean my real parents had magic abilities? If so why don't I have any?

That all said, what was the "It" he mentioned? What was he looking for for 16 years exactly? I didn't have time to ask him anything about it though, as he attacked again. This time it seemed like his attacks seemed more filled with anger than before. He was serious about trying to kill me now and I don't even know what made him so angry. All I could do was defend, he didn't give me any time to counter attack.

"You have both the things I need for my aspirations to come to light. Whether you keep fighting or not I will get both. I won't ask again, where is the sword? If you don't tell me I will find it myself and kill everyone closest to you," he said and that pissed me off. I glared at him.

"I'll kill you first, before you can lay a finger on them. Don't threaten our guild so lightly," I gritted out through clenched teeth.

"Oh, but it isn't a threat. It's what will happen in the near future," he replied, "I suppose play time is over, you clearly won't cooperate so I'll just kill you. I'm bored playing with you now."

All I could do was defend, just like before when he got angry. Only this time his attacks didn't feel angry. They felt focused and every move was well ingrained. He was experienced in battle and it was clear he wasn't kidding before. He had been just toying with me earlier.

After a while he did something else that completely took me off guard. He punched me hard in the stomach with his right hand and I could feel a burst of magic as I went flying. I landed right into the court yard where everyone else was fighting. Seeing me fly in had everyone pause. At least until they saw him follow me out into the open.

His men seemed to snap out of their surprise and started fighting again, as did my guild mates. He came over to me as I started to try and get up off the ground and kicked me back down.

"Did you really think I'd become leader of a notorious Dark Guild with just the power to nullify? My real power is to absorb magic and turn it into my own magic. Again, your about to die here so I don't see any reason to keep how you died a secret from you.

Now, I will be taking that magic tool from you and once you die I will be taking that sword as well," he said.

"What tool? Why do you act like I have some other magic item other than the sword?" I asked as I tried to back away from him and get to a sword lying next to a dead body.

"A magic tool your parents discovered that can completely block a person's magic. It can quite literally turn a magician into a normal human. You see where I'm going with this?" he said as he stepped on my hand reaching for the sword. "I'm going to rip it out of you -" He was cut off by Captain.

"If that's all true you can't, you'll kill him or worse set off a magical explosion. If it's true, 16 years of magic will flow back all at once, there is no telling what that will do," he said from near by. He heard all that even over all the fighting? If that's true then ...

My thoughts were cut off as the maniac slammed his left hand against my chest. I screamed out in agony as excruciating pain jolted throughout my entire body and I passed out.
