After a while of just standing there I pulled away from her an wiped my tears from my face. I hadn't wanted to cry, I even held out when Dustin was crying, but seeing her and hearing her concern just made me break down.
Once I calmed down and was sure the evidence of my tears was gone we headed to go get Dinner. I took her hand in mine as we walked and she moved a little closer to me.
"It's hard to tell with looking at you, since you wear such baggy clothes, but you have a lot of muscle," she mumble.
"Well that's because I was always training and didn't want people to notice so I tried to hide it," I said and shrugged. That was a very random comment and I wasn't exactly sure how to respond other than to explain why to her. I remained silent as we continued walking.
I wonder what Captain's plan is to save Dustin's sister. I mean he could send a few of us to infiltrate their Guild building, but that means less man power here for the attack. Maybe he'll call another guild or something to help us out with that. I would ask Lilliana what she thinks he has in mind since they were pretty close, but she doesn't know anything about any of this.
I feel bad yet again, after everything I'm still keeping secrets from my friends. But they aren't my secrets to tell so I will have to hold them in until Master, Dustin, or Captain decide whether or not to tell them.
I sighed, if there is anything I'm really good at it is keeping things to myself and keeping secrets. It's still hard for me to even believe I told them all my secrets in the first place. If it hadn't played out this way I probably wouldn't have told them anything until the day I died. But I can't go back and they were pushing me for answers so it is what it is now.
"You're deep in thought again about something aren't you?" Lilliana asked as she stopped me from walking. I sighed again.
"When I told you all my secrets I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, but now I have other people's secret which aren't mine to share and a new weight is weighing on me," I mumbled.
"Well, if they trusted you with them the you should respect their wishes, no matter what. I know you promised everyone you would be truthful from now on, but if it isn't your own truth then you aren't breaking your promise," she said.
"If they find out later and find out I knew about it they will get mad at me again though," I mumbled.
"Worry about that when or if that happens. It'll just eat at you if you worry about the future like that. They told you whatever it is in confidence so you shouldn't feel bad about it. Just move on and if the time comes I'm sure they will defend you," she said and smiled at me. She's right, I should just bury what they told me in my mind and move on one day at a time.
"Would you say the same if it came to something that could put others at risk? I mean theoretically, if someone was planning something crazy and you knew about it but promised not to say anything and that put someone or more than one someone at risk would you still keep it to yourself? Or if you knew someone was hurt or sick and they asked you not to say anything could you, knowing a lot of people will be crushed by that kind of news?" I had to ask.
"Hmm, that depends. If it's a possibility for someone to get hurt from keeping a secret it's also a possibility for nothing to come of it as well. That all depends on the events that unfold. Is that person trying to stop or fix what they told you about and if so it might be better to keep it to yourself. If that person was talking about hurting someone deliberately or something, then I would say that you shouldn't keep that a secret.
As for the injured person thing, if that is what they wish then who are you to share that secret, I'm sure at some point before they get too bad it'll come out on it's own anyways," she replied. She had a point on many accounts. Her explanations actually made me feel a little better.
I thanked her and sighed. We continued on towards the dining hall and got our food, then joined the others at our tables. I staid quiet as everyone else talked amongst themselves. Everyone has really gotten close and have become friends. It was nice to see them all getting along. They were my friends and it would be a shame if they were always arguing or fighting.
To my surprise Dustin came over, pulled out a chair and sat down without a word. He was red and clearly embarrassed he was doing such a thing so I left him be. My friends and everyone else in the room went silent in surprise. My friends seemed to understand as well and went back to their conversations.
Once everyone else realized nothing was going to happen they seemed to relax and started talking again as well. Whether they were back to their conversations or talking about Dustin I couldn't tell. It didn't really matter to me, I was just glad Dustin was coming around, even just a little.
Once done with my food I excused myself and headed back towards that training room again. Lana and Naxos came after me and I stopped walking. What did they want?
"First, what's with Dustin and you lately? I mean he actually sat with you and didn't pick a fight. You mentioned that you two worked things out, but I never expected he'd join us at the table," Naxos said.
"Well, I honestly didn't expect that either. We have come to a sort of understanding now. He won't bother us again that's for sure," was all I could say to them.
"At any rate I'm glad he isn't going to hurt you anymore. Now for the second reason we came after you. If your planning on training more today allow me to give you a check up and heal you," Lana said.
"I feel fine though and it's nothing more than a few scratches, I'll be okay," I mumbled. It'd be kind of embarrassing to get healed for such minor injuries.
"And if your muscles tense up or you over exert yourself you could end up with much more serious injuries. Don't play a tough guy, you need to rest. If you won't then I'll have to force Captain to hault your training for a whole day," she said putting her hands on her hips in a don't-test-me kind of way. I gave in since I knew there was no point in arguing with her. As I said Lana is a healer you don't want to say no to.
I reluctantly followed her to the infirmary and she shoved me down to sit on the bed in one of the rooms. For whatever reason Naxos came with us as well. She basically had me strip down to my underwear and I caught Naxos snickering to himself.
"If you don't hush I tell her to give you a check up too, since you skipped out on your last one," I muttered to him as she was across the room getting some things. He went pale and waved me off. Naxos really hates doctors and healers are no exception. I remember he got hurt in a fight once and they had to sedate him just so they could treat him.
