After I finished eating I stood and told my friends I had something to do and as I started walking I saw Dustin get up from his table as well. We had to talk to Captain about this, Dustin can't do this alone and I wanted to back him up if Captain gets angry.
We found Captain and I asked if we could talk to him in private and stated it was important and couldn't wait. Dustin was quieter than usual so I dis the talking. Seeing how serious this was he agreed to talk with us. We ended up going to the roof and I even made sure to lock the roof door so we wouldn't be over heard or interrupted. We told him everything.
When we were done talking he was absolutely quiet and it worried me a bit, but I waited patiently for his response.
"That black guild is messing with my guild members and I won't forgive them for it. I want you to keep feeding them information for now Dustin. Make it believable, but don't tell them the truth. I have a plan to get your sister back, but until then I need you to try and keep them off our backs. We will figure out your punishment once this is all over and done with. You were right to come to me about this, Tyrian. Now that we know what they're after we can plan for it. That said, I know you are worried about us but I want you to keep that sword hidden and just keep with your training. As soon as they find out we rescued his sister they will attack us," he said. I nodded.
"I - I'm sorry, Captian, I - I should have told you about this from the start," Dustin said as tears ran down his face.
"It must have been hard. I'm sorry I didn't notice you were struggling so hard. Dustin, we will get your sister back and we won't let them get their hands on that weapon," he said and rest his hand on Dustin's shoulder. Dustin nodded firmly and I sighed. Thankfully Captain took this all well. Our anger wasn't at Dustin, it was at that Dark Guild for toying with our Guild.
"I know you also blame yourself, Tyrian. None of this is your fault. All you were trying to do is protect your friend's last wish and keep it from falling into the wrong hands. It's not your fault your friends died either, that guild is to blame for all of this," he said and rest his other hand on my shoulder.
"I know and I won't forgive them for any of this. They will regret messing with the guild, messing with my friends, and messing with me," I said seriously and it seemed to surprise him a little.
"I won't let you fight if you have ideas of revenge in your heart. We are fighting to protect, not for revenge," he said.
"I don't think that's how he meant it. I think he just means that he's angry and won't hold back when he fights them. I won't either," Dustin said. I nodded. It's not like I want revenge or want to make them suffer, I just meant that they went to far and I can't forgive them for it.
Dustin is right I won't hold back of they come and fight. It's not like I want revenge and want to kill every last one of them or to take the fight to them. I want to protect my remaining friends from them. They should be punished for everything they have done and I'm sure they will be once we subdue them and handed them over to the Magic Council. However we can't do that now without any proof they were behind any of it. If they openly attack is we will have good reason to hand them over.
Once we left the roof after talking to Captain we went our separate ways. I decided to give my friends on the Magic Police Force a call. I had to see what they know and tell them a little bit about what I know. I obviously won't tell them everything, but I can tell them about the train incident.
Austin picked up almost instantly after the first ring. I asked him if he and Alaska were alone and he said to give them a minute. After about three minutes he said they were alone and put me on speaker so Alaska could hear.
"Have you found out anything about the train incident yet?" I asked deciding to start off there.
"Not much, we do know it was caused by magic, but as you know it could have been anyone, there isn't any way to tell who did it by the presence of magic itself. However considering it was done with malicious intent we are looking into any dark guilds that are around the area of the attack," Alaska said. Well that made this a little easier.
"I didn't tell you any of this. If asked I will deny it. It was a dark guild, they are most likely also responsible for Shay's murder and they're after Shay's sword. I have no proof, but I'm certain that is the case," I said.
"How do you know all of this? What is going on?" Austin asked.
"I can't really go into detail right now especially not over the phone, but this is all true. They're probably going to attack any day now so watch your backs too. Since you're my friends I wanted to warn you to be careful. That's all I can say, good luck with your investigation," I said and hung up before they could ask anymore questions.
I ended up telling them more than I planned to, but still kept most of what was going on from them, so I'm sure it'll be fine. Mentioning Shay over the phone was probably pretty risky, who knows if they've tapped our calls or not, but I had to let them know the cases were related.
Not wanting to sleep after learning everything, I headed back to that room to get in some more training. I know Captain told me to get some rest and pick this back up in the morning, but I had all this anger built up and I had to do something with it. I'm not sure sparing with someone was a good idea right now, I might hurt someone, so this room was the next best thing.
"I thought I'd find you here. You want to tell me what is going on, Tyrian?" Lilliana asked from the doorway. I kept dodging as I made my way to her. Once I stepped out I sighed and hugged her tightly. She gently hugged me back.
"I - I don't want to talk anymore. I just need you to hold me like this for a little while," I mumbled and let my tears fall. She gasped slightly and hugged me a little tighter.
"They're behind your friends' deaths aren't they? Thats why your so angry," she mumbled and I just nodded. There was way more to it, but that was the main point of the matter.
