10th October: Düsseldorf
Airports were unpredictable, they could be clear or not. When Calum and the rest of the guys landed in Dublin, the airport wasn't that bad people were mainly waiting outside for pictures and in all fairness, there weren't that many people. This airport was the complete opposite. As soon as they turned the corner after coming off the plane, around forty people were standing up with phones taking videos and pictures.
Calum was honestly disappointed, surely these people knew he and everyone else was tired. He remembered seeing an update account saying not to crowd around them especially when the other band is present. Calum pulled his beanie down further, was it seriously too much to ask just to get back to the hotel after waiting at the airport for two and a half hours because of a delay. He loved the fans he just wished they were sometimes a bit more considerate and not purposely wait at an airport just to see them.
Andrea was extremely uncomfortable, phones were flashing all around her along with people trying to get around her and Arthur to get to Calum and Ashton. Unfortunately for them, she didn't move she carried on standing next to Calum, trying to appear confident to get the people to leave her alone. Andrea was exhausted and she knew for a fact she looked like shit.
Arthur wasn't doing too well and that was worrying. He ended up moving closer to Everly who was trying to get through the crowd unharmed.
People started asking for pictures now, at least this time they were asking but Calum politely declined as he wasn't in the mood. Call him rude, but it was his life and he had the right to say no. The other guys ended up taking a few pictures and that seemed to settle the crowd. Calum decided to leave his band to it and take the other band outside to the taxi which would be waiting to take them to the hotel.
The bassist led them to the entrance of the airport and his heart sank, "oh fuck."
"What?" Everly asked, still holding Arthur's arm protectively.
"Fucking paps," he could see the expensive cameras and the flashing. Calum sent a quick message to his bandmates, warning them of what was waiting for them, "there are already security guards out there, but that's not going to stop these bastards, don't look at them look down and if something happened don't be afraid to curse them or preferably slap them, but I doubt that would give you much popularity in the industry."
Calum hated this, but he knows what to do, the others didn't and by the looks, on their faces, they were terrified. As soon as he opened that door, cameras were shoved in his face and people were shouting out random questions for him to answer. He didn't speak, just carried on walking forwards his legs wanted to give out, but he could see the cab insight he just had to get past these people first and foremost.
Something made Calum stumble and lose his balance he turned round to find Andrea leaning on his shoulder for support, Calum presumed she tripped. Carefully, he offered her his hand and pulled her forward. He leaned closer to her ear so she could hear over the noise, "are you ok?" right now he knew this looked bad, he knew that later on rumours would be all over social media, but right now he didn't care, Calum only cared if Andrea was ok.
"Yeah, thanks," she yelled back at him. Calum tightened his grip on her hand and pulled her into the car with him. Both of them tried to catch their breath and Calum rolled down his window, "get this on camera!" he gave them his middle finger and quickly rolled the window back up. Andrea laughed breathlessly just as Nia came stumbling in followed by Arthur.
"Where's Ev-,"
"Fuck all of you!" Arthur let out a sigh of relief as Everly stumbled into the car angrily.
