18th March: Toronto
When the interview got published, everyone was up in rage at the clear lies that were printed on paper. Aggressive phone calls were made to multiple people trying to get the interviewer fired or something but there was no such luck. Arthur had tweeted about thirty tweets saying 'bullshit' and nothing else. Everly tweeted out what actually happened and Nia aggressively dug into the guy and called him all the names under the sun. What did Andrea do? Nothing because quite frankly she was scared to use Twitter.
After the first day which consisted of pure anger for this guy, the second day was full of realisation of what the interviewer was trying to say about Andrea as a person. He tried to call her a slut because apparently, she has been sleeping around with everyone she comes across. Of course, there was nothing wrong with sleeping around with people, but this is simply not Andrea. Andrea was someone who had no desire whatsoever to have sex and the fact that people now see her as the player was just a complete lie that this random guy made up after interviewing them. She couldn't just tell everyone that she was asexual because one, no one else knew but her, two people would probably think she was lying because the interview is obviously correct and three it's no one's business but her own.
It was their last day in Toronto, yesterday when they arrived at nine am they mostly stayed in the hotel catching up on sleep. Luke and Ashton had gone out to look around whilst the others stopped inside. Today, however, Luke and Ashton stopped inside with Michael whilst Calum and Cows In Space decided to look around for a bit. They had to be back at the hotel at one pm so they could make their way over to the venue.
Since the interview, Calum had noticed that whatever had happened clearly made the group dynamic change. Nia was silent, which was unusual for her, Arthur stopped messing around and started acting like he was the oldest out of them when he wasn't. Everly had stopped wearing her signature dungarees and started wearing things that lacked colour and Andrea was, even more, quieter than usual, she was definitely getting lost in her thoughts as half the time when Calum spoke to her he would have to repeat what he said so she could hear it.
Calum hadn't read the interview nor had his bandmates, but he had a rough idea of what was said due to the changes he had noticed. However, he thought he could read Andrea like a book but now he started to second guess himself. Nothing drastic had really changed from her, yes she was quieter but there could be any reason for that. The only other thing was that whenever someone posted something on social media she made sure she wasn't in the photo and if she was in the photo she'd distance herself away. Her Twitter was basically empty and Calum was honestly missing the random tweets that she would put out, but that stopped a while ago. He thought maybe the interviewer had said something about her appearance but she hadn't changed her look whatsoever so Calum was doubting that.
"What time are we going to head back," Arthur asked, "because we have an hour left and I want to make sure we have enough time to walk back."
Calum sighed, this is what he meant, Arthur was acting all responsible and stressing about what time they should walk back when usually he'd be the one convincing other people to stay longer. "Maybe at ten too?" he shrugged lightly sipping on his drink.
"Will that give us enough time to get back?"
"Michael won't be ready when we get back so it doesn't matter if we're a little late," Calum reassured, he turned to face Andrea but she wasn't there but further back and on the opposite side of the group to him. Of course, neither of them wanted anyone from the public to know, but standing next to each other wouldn't mean anything. Andrea had her earphones in and wasn't really paying attention to anyone, just the floor.
The whole experience was definitely in Calum's top ten awkward moments. Nia and Andrea weren't talking and Everly and Arthur didn't say a lot either and when they did it was about the time and how long they had left until they needed to start walking back. There was little to no conversation between them and even if there were, Calum wouldn't join in, but at least it would be less awkward.
