14th February: Denver
When Andrea received a message from Calum at six in the morning asking her to come over to his room she was worried. Why would Calum ask her to come round when Michael was there? She didn't worry though, instead, she quietly got out of bed and put on a hoodie and some joggers and slowly walked past Arthur's bed to get to the front door. Calum was on the floor above her, but instead of taking the lift, she took the stairs. The sky outside was still dark and Andrea was half expecting it to snow with how cold it was.
When she reached Calum's room, she knocked lightly and he opened the door half naked, "Jesus Christ aren't you cold?" he shook his head and ushered her in. Andrea was expecting to see Michael asleep or watching a movie but he wasn't there, she pointed to his bed, "where is he?"
Calum shrugged, "let around half an hour ago, it's kind of a hard day for him, couldn't sleep last night." Calum sat down on his bed and patted the space next to him, inviting Andrea to come and sit next to him.
"Is he ok?" again Calum shrugged, "he won't freeze will he?"
Calum shook his head, "I made sure he wore at least two jackets," Calum sighed and gently pressed a kiss to Andrea's cheek, "sorry I'm worried about him and I haven't even asked how you are," he pressed his lips softly to her face again, "Happy Valentine's Day, Andy."
Her cheeks heated up, completely forgetting what day it was as it still felt like the middle of the night to her, not morning, "Happy Valentine's Day, Cal," Andrea returned the favour by kissing his cheek, "I feel bad I didn't get you anything."
"Andy," Calum sighed a small smile playing on his lips, "we agreed, no presents."
"I know, it just feels weird," Calum placed one hand on her thigh, she looked down at the hand and felt a strange feeling wash over her but she wasn't sure what it was.Calum must've noticed her pause and where she was looking, "does that make you uncomfortable," he asked in a non-judgemental tone and honestly, Andrea didn't know the answer. She knew Calum wasn't suggesting anything, he was trying to comfort her, but she didn't like the connotations of having Calum's hand on her thigh, "do you want me to move it?"
"I don't know," she whispered, Calum slowly removed his hand and Andrea felt a bit more at ease, "I'm sorry."
"Hey, no it's ok," he immediately looked right into her eyes with a small smile, "I wasn't trying to suggest anything I just wanted to tell you it was ok."
"I know that," Andrea sniffed and took his hand, how could this conversation have taken a U-turn so quickly? Andrea wasn't really sure why she reacted the way she did, as she said she didn't like the connotations of it, but Calum didn't mean it in that way, "I'm sorry, I don't know how to explain it, it's stupid."
"No it's not, your feelings aren't stupid," he looked down at their intertwined hands and then back up, "I just want to let you know that I promise I would never do anything without you consenting."
"I know and I trust you," Andrea sighed, "I just didn't like what it could've meant, I don't know."
"You don't like the fact that it could've meant sex?" she nodded her head and Calum looked at her thoughtfully, "do you not like sex?"
Andrea was taken aback by his question, she knew that not liking sex could mean she was on the asexual spectrum, but she never really thought about that before. "I don't know," she admitted, "I've never tried it, never wanted to try it. Is that weird?"
Calum shook his head, "no, is it weird to you?"
"No," Andrea felt as if she needed to look into this more, "I've just never thought about it.
