It was the third day since that confrontation happened and Erika-chan got a lot more aggressive. Ira, on the other hand, muntikan na niyang sabunutan si Erika sa inis at galit matapos kong i-kwento sa kanya ang nangyare at ginawa ni Erika-chan sa confrontation.
"I swear I'm gonna shave bald that head of that bitch! How dare she!" Ira-still ranting at hindi pa nakamove on-gritted her teeth in annoyance.
"Ira.." mahinahong tawag ko sa kanya. We were on our way to the fields. Ayaw na niya akong iwan mag-isa ever since the confrontation happened and she told me that she's been giving Erika-chan killing glares, which was unnecessary.
Arriving in the field, I immediately approached my bespectacled friend who is currently catching pitches from the pitching machine.
"Look who's here." The catcher asked as he caught another of the balls from the pitching machine. "I haven't spent time with you since your cousin was always attached to you."
"Yeah, a certain thing happened that made her attach herself to me." I sighed before it turned into something of amused disappointment. "So why did you reject Erika-chan?"
This sufficiently shocked Miyuki to cause a passed ball. " Did she come to you crying?"
"I don't believe crying is a good description; I'd call it a vexed encounter,"
He sidestepped my query, "Uh huh, tell me."
I could hear part of my hurt in my voice as I said, "Miyuki, I'm being open and honest with you, please be open and honest with me."
His tone was hesitant, but his words pierced my skin deeply: "My reasons as to why I rejected her are none of your business; if you choose to divulge anything to me that's your option and it has nothing to do with me."
I kept quiet as I walked over to the pitching machine to reload it after leaving the net behind the catcher. He wasn't mistaken. Perhaps moving forwards, I should divulge less information? Because I had disclosed facts, I didn't like his response because it seemed unjust. Again, he wasn't mistaken. I was looking into his personal matters. The problem is the princess and her unrelenting pursuit of the catcher, not why he rejected her or didn't.
"I apologize for intruding into your personal affairs, you're correct," I said when I was back behind the net and saw a ball past him and get caught by the net instead.
I hesitated for a bit before continuing, "Because the subject affects you, I'll tell you now that Erika-chan thought I had you in the palm of my hand and only befriended me to use as a bridge between you and her. And you've surely noticed, but she doesn't like me at all."
This four-eyes was audacious enough to laugh. This four eyes also had the skill to catch a fastball while laughing. "How funny, she thought of that?"
I said with bitterness, "When I'm done talking to you, I'm going to talk to the true mastermind."
"Hah? Is this you being honest?" He scoffed.
"Yes, it is. Something happened to the confrontation that's why Ira was always together with me and I didn't get to talk to you until now." I snapped back.
"So what happened? Did she went rogue?" I could hear his grin and his playful tone.
"The confrontation was just between me and her, so it's none of your business, please use any information I have previously divulged with you as guidance instead." my tone fell flat with irritation.
