It's now the fifth day of our summer training camp from hell. So here's the thing. I finished exams today, got my results today, and tutored Furuya today, you know the usual. But there was a little something extra going on–the summer camp.
Practice was in half an hour and I needed to get there. As the camp went on I became increasingly busy. Different players asked for my attention every time I took breaks from pitching. I was chasing after Chris for advice regularly. I was also helping out with the pitchers' education.
The third years were being increasingly demanding when it came to helping them practice their swings. Oh, and never forget, the peer tutoring cram school was still going on, because not everyone passed their exams today. So yeah, the second year just didn't slow down.
I heard that another round-robin game with Inashiro was planned this coming Sunday, the last day of summer training camp from hell. Honestly, was this an annual thing or something?
Shrugging off, I immediately wear my baseball uniform, tied up my hair into a braid before going out and head to the field. As I was walking, I heard the usual snicker from behind.
"Congrats on making it to the top, despite our very tight schedules this week and your sedulous time." He placed his signature grin as he was congratulating me.
A sigh left my lips, "Thanks." I mouthed. "Congratulations also for making it to the top."
He snickered, a smirk formed up on his lips, "T'was merely a luck." He retorted.
I rolled my eyes, "You could've just said 'Thank you' instead of being so smug about it. Tch!" I fasten up my pace and heard him laugh. The nerve!
"Ahahaha!" He jog as he tried to catch up. I began jogging away to not let him catch up. But as I glance from the back, I saw him speeding up and running towards me.
I felt an adrenaline shot up from inside and began running instead of jogging. The two of us looked like we're playing tags, with Miyuki chasing me as I fasten up my pace.
I couldn't help plant a smile and a giggle as he keeps on chasing me. Came to a dead end, I immediately avoided his arms and escape from it. "Oi!" I heard him call out to me but I fasten up my pace.
I glance back and saw him speeding up, with a wide grin formed on his face. I began yelling in excitement dahil papalapit na siya ng papalapit sa akin.
"Kyaaaaaaahhh!!!" I yelled and fasten up my pace again. "AHAHAHA! Aaaaa, stoooopp!!" I yelled as I'm still trying to outrun him.
A sudden hold around my waist made me stop on my tracks. I got lifted up–not so high–and turned me around. "Nooooo! I got caughttt!!" I whined like a kid, playfully hitting his arms.
I heard him chuckle before placing me back on the ground. Binitawan na niya ako and I immediately turn my heel to face him. He's covered in sweat as he's currently catching up his breath. "You..." He started off, "why did you run and think that we're playing tag?"
A laugh escapes my lips, "When I glanced back at you, you have this seriousness written all over your face! So I thought, we're playing tag for real!" I explained while grinning oh so widely.
