-Venus POV-
Booth, Temp and I are walking to a crime scene as he asks us, "So, either of you ever been here before?" "No." "No, I don't mean here, here. I mean Baltimore." I say no while Temp says, "Yeah. I've given several lectures to the Baltimore Homicide Division." "Ow, God!" We look at Booth who grabbed his mouth. I ask while Temp tried to grab his face as he swats her hand away, "What's wrong with your mouth Ranger?" "I got a tooth situation." "Shouldn't you go to the dentist." "I will if it doesn't get any better. Ow! Man!" Temp then asks, "Are you afraid of the dentist?" "I'm not afraid."
An officer then introduces himself, "Welcome to Baltimore. This is, uh, actually a federal flood abatement project, which is why we called you. K-9 unit was using it for an exercise, and one of the cadaver dogs went berserk. When we dug up the cement..." I then say, "Sorry but that is concrete." Temp nods and adds, "Cement is an ingredient in concrete." Booth then adds as well, "Yeah, that's a real important distinction to make at this juncture. So, what do we got, Bones, Blueberry, huh? Do your guys thing." We look down and cant determine anything as Temp says, "Nothing." "Nothing/ Nothing?" I nod. "Yes, we can't see enough of the skull, the tibia, the pubis." Temp finish it off with, "Nothing." Booth looks at us as we start walking away, "Nothing. Wait a second. Nothing! Oh, sorry. We drove all the way here so you two could just tell me nothing? All right, so what do you, what do you want to, uh, get the whole slab of cement..." Temp corrects him, "Concrete." "...Concrete, whatever- shipped back to the Jeffersonian?" I chuckle and look at him, "Yup, that is exactly what we want."
I was Booth the whole entire time when Temp went to visit mom as today was the anniversary of when we buried her. We meet Temp back at the lab as she tells us on how dad came and visited the both of them. Booth was first to ask, "So, did you talk to your dad at all before you called the cops?" "No. Why would I?" I then counter back, "Why wouldn't you?" Booth nods, "Yeah, I mean, I haven't seen my dad in a long time, and if I had the opportunity to talk-- Ow!" We look at him as I say, "Go to the dentist." "Oh, I will if it doesn't get any better." I sigh as we walked up to Zack as he says, "Based on decomposition of the track suit, Hodgins is estimating a postmortem interval of two years. Based on the bone deterioration, I like three years." Booth then ask, "Well, what killed him?" "The victim was dead shortly after this hole was punched into his skull."
We look at the screen where the hole is as I say, "Too small for a projectile." Zack adds, "No radiating stress lines." Temp adds, "A slow entry, a piercing wound." Booth then suggests, "Like a -a screwdriver? Nail gun?" I add, "Ice pick?" Zack nods, "Yeah something along those lines." I then come up with another idea, "Oh. Cold steel to the brain... but that would depend how far it penetrated." Booth nods as he makes a call, "Hey, it's Booth. I need, um, all murders in which a penetrating wound to the back of the head figured. Great. Thanks." He hangs up as I say, "Well we are going to have a hectic case then."
Temp and I went back to our apartment for a bit. Temp entered first as I close the door just as someone said, "Don't freak out." Temp and I quickly turned around as I place my hand on my gun. But who we saw made me remove my hand from it. It was our father. I sighed as Temp says, "You broke into our house? That is not acceptable." I start walking slowly towards him as Temp grabbed her phone as he says, "This, uh, little device here- it jams cell phone frequencies." I see that it worked as Temp couldn't do anything as I stand in front of dad with my eyes sparkling at the device, "May I see that?" Dad looked at me seeing my interest as he hands it to me as I exam it thoroughly. Temp then says, "That is illegal." While I say, "This is cool." Dad chuckles at our different reaction as he says, "Unfortunately, illegal is what I do best. I'm not staying." I then look at him, "What?" He sighs and pats my head, "I just want your sister, to do something for me." I look at Temp as he says to her, "I want you to take a look at my rap sheet." Temp and I ask, "Why?" "Why? Because I want a chance to talk to you both- actually talk to you both without you Temperance calling in the 82nd Airborne." I sigh as we watch him walk out of the door as Temp asks, "How is reading your police record going to change my mind?" "Just do it." We watch as he closes the door as Temp, and I look at each other.
