Broken Bones

Episode 88 ''The Doctor in the Photo'' Part 1

-Venus POV-

We were having dinner night with our friends today and Temp and I will be hosting it. I was thrilled to make something for them along with Temp. Temp takes out the ingredients, while I grab the utensils and bowls.

We made sure that the food was to theme and would be good and nutritional for Angie. I was cutting the green pepper and Temp was cutting the other vegetables. It was quiet between the both of us, a nice silence. 

We hear a knock on the door as I go to the sink, "I got it." "Alright." I wash my hands before answering the door. I open to see Wendell standing there waiting. He sees me and smiles showing some of the drinks we needed. "You ordered some wine and a non-alcohol one as well?"

I smile, "Yup, that's me. Thanks for going out and bringing it." I let him in as he says, "No problem. But I do expect a nice payment." "Payment?" He nods and leans in and gives me a nice gentle kiss. 

I kiss him back with a smile as we then separate, "This payment method isn't bad." We both chuckle a bit as we then hear thumping on the ground as we turn seeing Jupiter running over and hopping onto Wendell excited to see him.

We chuckle as Wendell pets him, "There he is! I can never forget our good boy here." Jupiter excitedly wags his tail going all around Wendell wanting more pets until Wendell tells him, "I brought something for you."

Jupiter looks at him as Wendell continues, "Sit." Jupiter listens to his instructions and sits, "Paw." He gives Wendell his paw, "Stay-" Jupiter watches as Wendell pulls out a big bone as I watch Jupiter's tail wag very excitedly making me chuckle a bit.

But Jupiter listens to every command watching as Wendell puts the bone down carefully and stands up finally giving the last command, "Get it, boy." Jupiter quickly dives grabbing the bone and begins to quickly chew on it as we laugh a bit. 

I say, "Any longer he would've started slobbering all over the ground." That's when Temp chimes in, "Best he didn't we have guests arriving soon and I'm sure dog slobber on the ground isn't welcoming nor sanitary."

I chuckle nodding as Wendell and goes over to the kitchen counter greeting Temp, "Hi, Dr. Brennan. Thanks for inviting me for dinner." "No need to thank me Mr. Bray, you're Venus's boyfriend, it's expected for significant others to attend an occasion together." "Right..."

It was a little awkward between the two as I give Temp a look to say something nice as she gives in, "Thank you for bringing the beverages. It wouldn't be a nice dinner without any." This made Wendell smile as he nods, "No problem, Dr. Brennan. Anything I could help with?"

I go back over to cutting the vegetables as I say, "We still have to set up the table, we already have the tableware out. If you could-" He comes over to me and gives me a quick kiss as I smile as he says giving me a small smile as well, "I got it." "Thank you."

Everything was ready as we hear someone knocking at the door. Temp goes over opening the door as it was Booth, Hanna, Hogins, and Angie. We greeted them inside and we all take a seat at the table as Temp, and I serve everyone a plate and drinks.

We were having fun talking about different topics as I notice that Temp was distant... It worried me as she isn't ever like that. But I listen back to the conversation as Hannah says, "I-I can't imagine going from being a woman to being a mom."

Booth then explains, "When Parker was born, everything changed in my life- everything." Hodgin asks, "Like what?" Angie tells him, "Well, 'everything.' 'Everything' means 'everything." Hannah then says, "Temperance, Venus, this is delicious." 

I give her a smile in appreciation as Temp explains, "The Garbanzo Palau is in honor of your time in Afghanistan. Garbanzos are also very good for pregnancy. The B6 will help with your morning sickness."
