In a span of five months, there were numerous interviews, reports, and even a Netflix original series in the works about the Simcoe tragedy, as it has come to be known.
The condo building was constructed in an open space near several large buildings. The exterior was entirely made of glass windows with grey and white siding. Each until had a black balcony, and there was a convenience store and bakery nearby.
Despite her parents' desire for her to return home, Nevaeh wanted to live in one of these places.
"Whoa!" Will exclaimed.
The lobby gleamed with a black floor and sleek front desk. Behind it, a rock wall trickled a slow stream of water, and glowing lights lined the grey walls beside two leather sofas.
Nevaeh raced down the right hallway, heading toward the indoor pool. She pushed open the large glass door and stepped onto the dark grey deck. The long pool reflected the four windows on the left, giving a view of the city. On the right, a square hot tub bubbled gently, a small waterfall casting a soft blue glow.
She couldn't help but laugh when she noticed something in a supply closet."You got pool noodles and floaties?"
Mia rushed to grab one from the supply closet that had some beach balls.
"We also have a pool cleaner who will check the levels," River informed them. "And there will be an emergency lifeguard on duty if needed."
It felt like being in a water park or a luxurious hotel that people dream of visiting.
River left as Nevaeh scurried behind with the number of those staying. One person who surprised Nevaeh that was staying Cindy, as her parents had been desperate for her to return home.
Jason, Greyson, and Scarlett were also staying, along with some other Uden students, like Preston and James.
Emma had returned home with her father but would visit. The same went for Zane, Mallory, Angel, and others who had helped. Some had considered staying, but most were still undecided.
The next room was a library, with a dark brown desk and walls lined with high shelves of books. Circular tables with comfortable white chairs were scattered throughout the room, each adorned with a small plant in the centre. Nearby, there were a few blue sofas placed near long coffee tables.
"This room is for studying and stuff, since we will need to focus on our grades and—" River rambled awkwardly.
"Highlighter, most of us didn't care about our grades," Mia interjected with a laugh.
"It could be for just wanting to go somewhere quiet," River rushed out.
They left the library and entered the main lobby, where there where two silver elevators were located.
"The second floor is where we can eat together as a group. Each of us also has our own kitchen, depending on the size of the room," River explained.
The crackheads went up the stairs while some others waited for the elevators. Upon reaching the second floor, her eyes widened at the sight. The room was spacious, with polished tables placed in various areas, and a long table set up for dining in the centre. A fireplace was situated near left side of the room, where there was another long table and multiple nearby.
The walls were silver, and large windows offered a view of the bustling city below. On the right side of the room was a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a double stove and a large countertop.
"We will have someone cook the food for us, as I don't want to risk burning down the place," River eyed Eden when he said this.
"Do you honestly think I would burn this place down? First of all, it would be difficult to do so, and I only target big buildings if there is a reason to burn them," Eden replied flatly.
