"Ellianah you came back!"

I felt a small pair of arms wrap around my waist as Bronx squealed in delight at my presence. I bent down onto my knees and embraced him, kissing his head, making sure he knew that I loved him, no matter what.

"Of course I did! I told you that you'd see me soon, didn't I?" I grinned, pausing as Bodhi started to giggle. Bronx turned around and saw his half-brother on the floor, smiling widely at him with his small hand outstretched.

"Looks like Bodhi missed you too!" I smiled to myself and my heart was overwhelmed with cuteness as Bronx went and sat with Bodhi, playing with his cars and sponge footballs. They were so much alike, it was amazing.

After a while, Bodhi started to get tired. I placed him in the basket Pete had for him in the lounge so he could sleep while the three of us spoke together. I was quite anxious about telling Bronx the news. He would instantly assume that Pete and I were getting back together but that definitely wasn't the case. It was so much more complicated than just deciding to trust Pete again.

"So Bronx, why don't you sit down, your Dad and I want to tell you something."

Bronx crawled over from the TV to the sofa. It was evident how much he's missed me as he perched himself on my lap. I smiled at this securing my arms around his body and clasping my hands together.

"What is it? Are you guys going to get together again?" His eyes flickered between myself and Pete. I knew that neither of us wanted to be the one to tell him that his dream wasn't becoming a reality, but I hated seeing him so down.

"No, Bronx-" Pete started, but I cut him off.

"We...we don't know yet. We still have to talk about a few things, alright?"

Bronx nodded, bowing his head a little. I think he got so distracted thinking that this was the news that he almost forgot there was actually something we needed to tell him. His confused gaze that looked up made me chuckle.

"So...what is the news then?" Bronx furrowed his eyebrows together cutely.

I looked at Pete, who just nodded at me, letting me know that I should be the one to tell him.

"Well there's going to be a pretty big change in a few months and you're going to have a huge responsibility..."

Bronx's eyes lit up wide, glinting in the corners, "Are we getting a dog?"

Pete laughed and I felt my heart ache. The sound that escaped his lips was so angelic that it created butterflies in the pit of my stomach, making my heart flutter as he smiled.

"No, listen to Ellianah!"

Bronx twisted his body round so he was facing me. As I stated down into his eyes, I couldn't help but dream about how excited he was going to be when I told him. He loved it when Bodhi was born, he loved being the older brother and he would constantly wait on me hand and foot whilst I was pregnant. I didn't ask for any of it, but the fact that he thought of me was so amazing, especially because he was only 7 at the time.

"You, Bronx, are going to become a big brother again."

At first, he looked confused. I sunk my teeth into my bottom lip an watched in awe as he slowly registered what I meant and his frown transformed into a huge grin.

"You're having another baby? This is awesome! I love babies!" Bronx slid off my lap and started to run around the room. He stopped and bent over the side of Bodhi's basket, "You hear that Bodhi? You're going to be a big brother too!"

It made me so happy, seeing Bronx ecstatic at the fact there was going to be a new addition to the family. I was hoping it would take his mind off the thoughts of Pete and I's relationship for a while, I didn't want it to stress him out or anything. Judging by his reaction, he was going to be just fine whilst he sorted this whole thing out.
