READ A/N AT THE END"Dad!" Bronx screamed, running up to Pete who immediately swept him up into his arms, hugging him tightly.
"Hey kiddo, are you good?"
"Yeah Dad, I have this journal that I made whilst you were away, will you read it?"
"Of course I will! I missed you so much!" Pete hugged Bronx again, kissing his head multiple times whilst I stood and watched, a broad smile on my teary face. He was finally home, finally in front of me again.
Pete gently put Bronx back on the floor after handing him a bag full of treats from all the states he'd been too. He looked at me with a smile, then at Bodhi who was raging in my arms at the sight of Pete. It made my heart skip a beat that he recognised him, even at 6 months old. He craned his neck from my chest and his tiny hand reached out towards Pete. Letting a tear slip, Pete couldn't help but cry a tiny bit too, taking his second born into his grasp for the first time in 3 months.
"Look at you, hey. You got so big!" Pete laughed as Bodhi touched his face, running his little fingers across Pete's slight stubble.
"And your mom, doesn't she look beautiful? I sure missed her the most," Pete looked at Bodhi, then me.
"I missed you too, Peter."
Laughing, Pete pulled me close and kissed me passionately. His lips felt so fresh and his skin was so smooth. I had longed for his touch for what felt like forever and finally, my needs were being fulfilled. For the best part of three months, I had been in pain without him by my side, but now he was back. And he wasn't going anywhere for a while yet.
"Damn I missed you," Pete smirked, pressing his his forehead against my own.
"I missed you too, a lot."
Looking around the terminal, I felt a sense of unity as the other boys were reunited with their families. Joe had the twins under both his arms, swinging them around like a manic. Patrick was hugging Gabrielle longingly whilst he held Declan in his arms. Thea was almost in tears at her Dad's feet, hugging his knees before he scooped her up and gave her a huge hug. It felt so good to have everybody happy again and when I looked at Pete, I couldn't help but feel a rush of new love race through my body.
"Let's go home, yeah?".
* * *
Once we were back at home, I started on dinner straight away. Pete was super tired but being the great father he is, he read the entire or Bronx's diary whilst watching Bodhi play with his toys.
Bronx decided he wanted dinner early so we let him have a fast food meal on the way home, which meant our food was slightly delayed. Just before eight, Bronx declared how tired he was and Pete carried him up the stairs to bed whilst I continued with dinner. Since it was Pete's first night back at home, I wanted to make his favourite: pizza. I bought a dough and together we added sauce and toppings ourselves before putting it in the oven to bake.
Whilst dinner was cooking, Pete and I sat down in the lounge with Bodhi. Together, I curled into his chest whilst Bodhi was perched on Pete's lap. He could now sit up without help and he was starting to crawl. Usually, it was around 10 months that they crawl but Bodhi was a fast learner. Every time I looked at him he had seemed to change, it was amazing.
"Wow, he's changed so much. He looks more like you every day." Pete stared in awe at Bodhi.
"Come on, have you seen his eyes? They're exactly the same as yours."
"I guess, but he has your nose. Small and cute." Pete laughed and stared at me without saying anything else. I missed times like this when we'd just sit together in silence, appreciating each other's company.
"Whatever." I smiled widely, reaching out and letting Bodhi grip onto my finger.
"Hey you know what, I love how he noticed I was there before you did. And he's a baby."
"Yeah," I smiled, "That's a good thing, he knows his Dad from a mile away. He's been missing you so much, haven't you Bodhi?"
Pete grinned as Bodhi babbled some words in his own way. Bodhi's smile was the same as Pete's and they were almost identical. It was amazing how alike they were and it made me feel so happy.
Later on in the evening, Pete cleaned up the dishes whilst I fed Bodhi and got him ready for bed. It felt so weird but so good to finally have someone else back in the house with me, especially Pete. It was wrong not having him at home and Bodhi knew that. He was so much more relaxed now Pete was here.
I let Pete put Bodhi down for bed whilst I waited downstairs in the lounge. It was almost spring but the house was cold so Pete and I found ourselves curled up under a blanket on the huge sofa that took up what looked like half the lounge.
Pete came back downstairs and snuggled under the blanket with me. Placing his arm around my shoulders, I rested my head on his shoulder as we watched some cooking show on television.
"What did you get up to whilst I was away then? Anything exciting?" Pete asked, playing with the ends of my hair which was desperately in need of a cut.
"Eh," I shrugged slightly, "Not much. I met up with the girls a few times. Had lunch with Brendon and Sarah. I went round to theirs once and Calum played with Bodhi for hours. I visited Bronx and he came here for a day, missing you and all. Apart from that, I was either at work or by myself with Bodhi. Oh, and I was with Gabe a few days too. He sure loves the little one."
I laughed out loud a little, thinking about Gabe an Bodhi together. It was only towards the end of the tour, the last couple of weeks, that I didn't see Gabe. He seemed to get busier by the day so in the end, I stopped calling.
"Oh," Pete said, "We're you with him a lot?"
"Gabe?" I questioned, looking up at Pete whose eyes were firmly fixed on the TV. I could sense an odd vibe from him which started to throw me, "No not really. Maybe a week, out of the three months, I can't really remember. Is something wrong?" I said, placing a hand on Pete's chest.
"Oh no," Pete shook his head anxiously, taking my hand in his, "I'm just tired that's all, let's go to bed, yeah?"
I stare at Pete. Behind his tired eyes, there was a combustion of love and something that confused me heavily. I couldn't figure it out but I didn't want to push it any further forward, so I did the opposite. I released the thought from my head and decided to focus solely on a Pete. After all, it had been three months since I'd last seen my boyfriend, and now he was back where he belonged.
"Sure, whatever you like."
Pete smiled, kissing me softly before wrapping the blanket around me and carrying me up to our bedroom. Kicking the door closed, Pete placed me down gently on the bed. Finally, there was someone else beside me, I wasn't alone.
At least, I didn't think I was.

emotional bc it's been exactly a month tonight since I saw atl and ymas send help
anyway this chapter was short and sweet but v discrete bombs were dropped let me tell you.
okay so I REALLY want some people to try and guess what the upcoming drama is. Like in the last chapter, I posted an a/n saying that in the previous chapter there was a hint. Nobody in the comments could guess and I'm wondering maybe someone will after this chapter?
they'll be some form of prize (you'll be incorporated into the story with a character of your choice probs) if you get it right, first one to guess correctly, I'll DM!:)
