"Have you found out who it is, yet?"

Shi Qingxuan was shooting Xie Lian a curious glance over her boba tea, painted fingernails tap-tap-tapping on the side of her drink.

Xie Lian's shoulders slumped.

"No", he answered somberly, "not yet."

Throwing her long, sleek hair over one shoulder, Shi Qingxuan leaned forwards on top of the table between them, looking positively intrigued.

"Really? I thought you and your dear San Lang shared everything?"

Xie Lian rubbed his chin.

"Ah, we do talk about most things, but this...", he laughed sheepishly, "I don't really want to know the answer."

Shi Qingxuan arched a sleek eyebrow.

"You don't want to know who has stolen your crush's attention?", she grinned wickedly, "even if that could help us figure out how to make him like you more?"

Brown eyes widening, Xie Lian hurriedly raised his hands, waving them around.

"Not so loud, not so loud!", he glanced around them to see if anyone was listening in. Although it was a Tuesday and noon, the boba shop was surprisingly vacant, "ah, Qingxuan-"

"A-Lian", Shi Qingxuan grinned, "stop being so embarrassed about it! Having a crush is perfectly normal. Even when it's on your best-"

"Ssh!", Xie Lian could feel his cheeks heating up and covered his face with his hands, "we don't need to talk about it! It's fine, it's fine!"

Laughing, Shi Qingxuan grabbed hold of her boba again and continued drinking from it. Her eyes were still sparkling with mischief.

Xie Lian slowly removed his hands, still flushed a lovely red, and shot his friend a slightly irked look.

"I thought you were going to help me, not tease me", he pointed out, feeling like a sulky child.

Shi Qingxuan smiled at him.

"And I am going to help you", she paused for a moment, taking a sip of her tea, "you're completely sure you don't want to confess to him, though? Before he ends up with someone else?"

A sinking feeling made itself known in Xie Lian's gut. He swiftly ignored it, instead looking earnestly at Shi Qingxuan.

"Yes", Xie Lian nodded, as if to make himself even more clear, "it would just make things uncomfortable. San Lang deserves to be happy with whoever he wants to be with."

A sour taste spread in his mouth as he uttered those words.

"If he is happy, then I'm happy as well", Xie Lian nodded once more, trying to show how certain he was.

Shi Qingxuan stared at him for a few seconds, then let out a strangely exasperated sigh.

"Alright then", she rolled her eyes. Xie Lian had no idea why, though didn't bother to question her about it.

"What I wanted to suggest, to make it easier for you to ignore all of your heartache", Shi Qingxuan sat down her boba and leaned towards Xie Lian all excitedly, "was that you make yourself a dating profile!"

Xie Lian blinked at her.

"What?", he let out a laugh, "why?"

Once again, his friend rolled her eyes at him.
