Nobunaga and I had been given a mission by the boss to draw out the chain user who killed uvo. When we set out, I came up with the idea of going to a normal place out in the open, so as to draw whoever's hunting us down. Due to the stunt we pulled last night and basically eradicating every single mafia boss at the auction, they're bound to be people looking for us, but they won't be able to find us and even if they did, they probably will be too scared after witnessing our blood lust once. If there's someone who's strong and smart enough to do both... that's definitely a chain user candidate.

We sat in front of a mall located at the square of yorknew for about upwards of an hour. While we did feel that we're being watched, it wasn't anything concrete. After concluding that we aren't getting anywhere with sitting, but at the same time we couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. So we decided to start moving, we weren't going anywhere in particular but just walking around. As we kept walking and walking, our suspicions got more confirmed.

"You think we're being followed?" I asked.

"Most likely," Nobunaga replied bluntly.

"Whoever they are, they must be pretty good. We've never been this frustrated just to draw out a target" I sighed.

"tch , you're right about that" he replies with a vein popping on his head. Even though he's trying his best to look calm, I can tell he's extremely impatient and angry. But can I blame him? We know someone is following us but they're so good at it that we can tell where they are, it's like a fly buzzing around that you can't kill.

"Y'know what? Let's go to that street right there" I suggested pointing westward.

"Ah!? Why!?" Nobunaga protests.

"I don't know just a hunch, let's go there" I shrugged.

"Hmm. Your intuition has never been wrong, let's try" he said as he began walking westward ahead of me like he came up with the idea. I sighed and followed him.

We entered the street located in the west and it was extremely quiet. It was devoid of any type of life and the only sounds are that of crows cawing. The house had not a single window, everything was ruined and spacious. Most importantly whoever's following us is still following, 'Perfect!' we thought. This would be much easier. We entered one of the abandoned houses and went straight to its backyard. We were standing there, still with the feeling of being followed when suddenly, nobunaga got a call.

"It's pakunoda," he said.

He picked the call and put it on speaker, and after a few words and information... we realized that the people following us are right behind us. Nobunaga and I looked at where they were with incredible bloodlust. They immediately took off, however they were too slow as they were met by pakunoda and the one in the other window was stopped by phinks. Nobunaga went to phinks' window and I went to Paku's.

I jumped up to see two kids. A boy that seems to be in his early teens. He's quite impressive for a kid, his nen is quite pitiful, almost like he just started, his aura is barely even developed. The other was an older girl probably in her late teens who seemed to be the leader of this operation. Her aura was more powerful, even though it's a little rough. She must've gone through a lot of training and from what I see,she can easily beat kortopi and hold her own in physical strength against shizuku. She definitely has massive potential. But that doesn't matter now, does it. If she's the chain user, we kill her.

"You've got some nerve messing with us, kid" I said as I got off the window's edge.

The girl said nothing but as she slowly turned around, I got a look at her face. My heart dropped from the sight that was before me. It's her! I never thought I'd see her again! I never thought I'd regret breaking ties with you as much as I did! I missed you so much, Y/N. Even though we only met once. I was so surprised, tears almost fell out my eyes, something that hasn't happened in a long time. But fortunately I was able to keep my composure.

"Machi? You okay?" Pakunoda asks.

"Yes, I'm fine". I said.

"Ok then, but more importantly what're we going to do with these kids?" Pakunoda said.

Yes! About that, I cannot let them kill her. There's no way she's the chain user.

"Hey kid, how old are you and where did you kids learn nen" I looked straight into those eyes of hers. I thought she'd have the slightest hint of happiness from seeing me, but that does not seem to be the case. Her face was laced with surprise and just pure disgust. What happened, 'why're you looking at me like that Y/N' I thought.

"Um- I'm 16 and we learned nen from a shingen ryu master" she said, in a careful,calm voice.

"Does your master happen to use chains?" Pakunoda asked this time.

"No, we do not know anybody who uses chains," she answers.

"Then why were you following us?" Pakunoda asks again.

"Because there's a huge bounty on you guys' heads and we need the money urgently." she explains.

"Fine then kid. Both you and your baby bro right there will be coming with us" Pakunoda says in an apathetic voice.

 Pakunoda announces that the kids are coming with us, a notion that I support because we still have to get info from them. Even though I'd prefer for them not to hurt y/n, chrollo's orders are much more important. Whatever happens, happens. My life belongs to the troupe and the boss only. So if y/n tries to take that from me, I have no choice but to cut her down.

The younger kid is obviously quite scared, his legs moved an inch as he was about to attempt an escape. 'Too slow' I thought as I swiftly dashed from the window and tried to hold his shoulder in order to stop him from moving when something unexpected happened...
