Author's note: The dining room.

That night after finishing my homework I went down to the dining room for dinner at Alpha Viktor's request.

I wore a purple tunic top with black leggings. I finished the look with my black ballet shoes and bangle bracelets. I put on fresh rose gold lip gloss then headed downstairs.

Alpha Viktor sat at the head of the table with his father to his right followed by his wife. I sat next to Starla with Simon on my other side. Next to him sat. Lucas. I saw no sign of his beta or his gamma Gabriella sat to the left of him followed by Sofia Rachel and Warren.

"So what brings a royal entourage to my pack?" He asked with no preamble.

"Right to it I see," said Simon. "We're here to learn of course. Rumor of your training program has reached the King's ear and he asked that we check it out."

"Uh huh. That's what I keep hearing. It doesn't explain why these two," he said, pointing at me and Gabriella. "Have no training and can't even defend themselves."

"Well, Gab-" Simon stated before being interrupted.

"The ladies can speak for themselves," he said, eyeing both of us.

"We heard they were coming and decided we would like to join them," Gabriella said innocently.

"And did you check out the training programs at the other schools?" Alpha Viktor asked, looking at Simon.

"Well no," Simon said. "The other schools didn't have a training requirement."

Just then the omegas came in bringing our dinner. Roasted chicken, mashed potato, peas and carrots, gravy and biscuits were on the menu.

Everyone started looking around at each other. I did not like this line of questioning. This could ruin everything.

After we were all served he said, "dig in. We can talk and eat. Now, have you travelled much for your education?"

"We've been travelling for three years now. Two different schools every year," Sofia said tossing her hair. "The other ones weren't as fine as yours."

"Let me guess. You, you, and you are warriors," Alpha Viktor said pointing to Rachel, Lucas and Warren in turn. "Am I right?"

"Yes Alpha," they said in unison.

"And you," Alpha Viktor said pointing to Simon, "you're their logistics man or advisor."

"Why yes. I thought the King explained all of this," Simon said.

"No. He simply asked if his nieces could attend school for the year. Then he called about warriors guarding the school and bodyguards attending classes," he said, cutting up his chicken.

"Honey, maybe you want to save these questions for after dinner," his mother said.

"What difference does it make?" He asked.

"I think what your mother means is this doesn't feel like a pleasant dinner conversation," Alpha Lucien remarked.

Thank Goddess someone said something. This was making me extremely nervous. I decided to concentrate on my food and eat as fast as possible to escape.

"I'm almost done," he said casually. "Diana, what's your favorite subject?"

Silence.

"Diana?" Alpha Viktor said.

Nothing.

"DIANA, THE ALPHA IS TALKING TO YOU," Sofia shouted.

I jumped before saying, "what?"
